Connecting Guitar Pedal into Mixer
Thought it would be fun to finally try out a guitar pedal with my 606/707. Bought a Yamaha MBD-20M Distortion Pedal for very cheap. Was planning to run the pedal through my mixer (Mackie VLZ3 1604) as an effects send unit just like with my Midiverb II (Output of the effect into Stereo Return of the ...

TR-707 Issue
My TR-707 is behaving strangely. I turn it on. The grid is full. Nothing works. I turn it off, reset it, hold TRACK and TRACK #1 buttons together and power it on. It works. I will make some patterns, turn it off, turn it on right away, everything has been saved and works. Turn it off for the night, ...

Thanks for all the responses. I think it is between the QY700 and the Engine.

MIDI Sequencer for Hardware Only Set up
Hello all, I've been playing with my Bass Station II in ableton for a year+ now. Just bought a TR-8, love it. Sick of the workflow of DAWs. I want to build a hardware-only set up for sequencing and recording. The BS2 has a limited sequencer (only 32 steps), and the TR-8 lacks a song mode. I will try...

Bass Station II TR-8 MIDI note sending issue
Hello all, I own a TR-8 and Bass Station II. MIDI cable is connected from TR-8 MIDI OUT to BSII MIDI IN (I have also tried it the other way around, with the same result). The two are synced, with the TR-8 being able to control the tempo for both instruments. I press Start on the TR-8, and it plays a...

Re: 707 Ableton
I am a complete novice, so please excuse me. I have never connected MIDI instruments before. I have watched videos and done as they say, but cannot figure out how to connect the Bass Station II and the TR-707. (let's ignore recording via ableton for now. I have learned I do not even know how to get ...

707 Ableton
Hello. I record my Bass Station II into Ableton Live 9 Suite all the time. I now have a 707 and I am trying to do the same with it. The BS2 connects to the computer via USB. The 707 is connected to the BS2 via MIDI cable. I set the 707 to Sync mode until S-n pops up. But nothing happens. No patterns...

How to record audio from Bass Station II into Ableton Live
I recently purchased the Novation Bass Station II and love everything about it. I use Ableton Live 9 as my DAW. I now want to learn how to record audio from my Bass Station II into Ableton Live. I have no audio interface/soundcard or MIDI in/out cables. I have the USB cable that came with the Bass S...

Re: Novation Bass Station 2 or MC-202?
I am sure this is a silly question, but I have to ask anyway... I have been using the built-in sounds and drums in Ableton for many many months now... Are the sounds of a true analog synth like the Bass Station 2, a true upgrade? Is it worth it? If it helps, I am not a casual musician, I practice an...

Novation Bass Station 2 or MC-202?
I just got a chunk of money, 1000 dollars. I am looking for a first synth to buy. I am proficient in music theory and composition, so the MC-202's way of inputting individual note and rest lengths is not an issue. The real question is, is it really better (in sound, or features, or whatever) than th...

Re: Should I Buy a Novation Bass Station II?
Hmm it seems that the sequencer does not work quite like that of an MC-202. It does not store the length of notes and rests. I suppose I would have to rely on Ableton to do my more detailed sequencing then.
