Yes it's doable, easy and cheap with a $3 IDE reader. The magic key for me was a 4gb Transcend 133x card from ebay; an old 256mb CF card did NOT work. Now you can get a SP808 with a functioning CF-card reader. You can't post this without also providing the exact brand and model # of the CF reader, as well as where you got it. That's just evil. I got one for $25 last spring with 2 boxes of sample floppies. I've never seen anyone ask for anything close to $450 for one.
