Re: Additive synthesis anyone??
If you've looked at softsynths that do allow modulation per partial it gets really hairy. That was my point, or maybe my question. We know a saw is all harmonics at a decreasing amplitude and a square is all odd harmonics at a decreasing amplitude, but what do you get if you skip every other odd ha...

Re: Additive synthesis anyone??
think of additive synthesis kind of like a morphing filter... the k5 has 128 partials per oscillator, but you only get 4 harmonic envelopes, so you have to group harmonics... K3's user waveform is a simple fixed spectrum (single cicle waveform)... you have 2 memory slot only with a cartridge, and y...

go with the K4r, nevermind K4's shitty original FXs, use your own or your daw's instead.

Re: Ensoniq SD1/VFXSD floppy drive emulator replacement
Hi there, A friend of mine is currently looking into installing the Gotek floppy Emulator in his samplers (Emu and Ensoniq). I think he successfully did it for his Ensoniq Mirage and so it should work with the other units as well. I think on the PC side there won't be a problem. With Omniflop you c...

Ensoniq SD1/VFXSD floppy drive emulator replacement
Hi, I own an SD1/32 and I'd like to replace the floppy drive with an USB floppy emulator. Of course, I want to do it as cheap as possible, I can't justify spending more than what I paid for the synth itself. Now, since the original drive uses DSDD, I think the SFRM72-TU100K USB driver emulator could...

Re: The "Fake" PWM method
that's interesting, but way overcomplicated! there must be a way in synthesis!?!

Re: The "Fake" PWM method
I wonder if something similar can be done via AM (amplitude modulation)... in a Kawai group (https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Kawai-K/info) we discussed about how to obtain PWM in Kawai series digital synth... for the K1, we ended up using a sawtooth and a ramp waveform (both present in the synth...

Re: The "Fake" PWM method
SO... Osc sync IS pwm! Morevover, it modulates the width of ANY waveform!

Re: The "Fake" PWM method
Hard sync makes one wave (the slave) reset its waveform when the other wave (the master) restarts. The "resetting within a cycle" effect of hard sync effectively changes the shape of the wave, which changes the harmonic structure and thus the timbre or sound of the oscillator. Pulse waves are uniqu...

Re: Ableton controller?!
If you got max 4 live as well you could try the MPK MAX EDITOR http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device/2084/mpkmax ( for mpk mini , but the lpd8 should work ? ) I use a few different sequencer patches for my launch pad and for me it makes it feel like hardware were I'd want it to be . The roll you...
