Re: Bit 99 PCB solder joins coated in epoxy or something
Thanks for advice guys. Yeah not going to be a quick job but its been 20 years since its been sick so another few months is nothing. Interestingly, tested again using only one chip in the best voice and works great as a mono synth if all else fails. Most of the TP don't have good access to read the ...

Re: Bit 99 PCB solder joins coated in epoxy or something
Yeah I tested all the CEMs, one by one in the chip seats of the 2 voices that are good (actually previously tested every chip in every seat and made a chart of it!) and it seems that all the chips are ok, ( I did have to get a couple of new ones to replace 2 that I had identified by this method as d...

Bit 99 PCB solder joins coated in epoxy or something
Hi, currently about to replace the caps on my Bit 99 filter board and on closer inspection every solder joint seems to be covered in a thin clear substance that bleeds and extends like liquid was painted or droppered over. I'm assuming its epoxy or some silicon coating to preserve the solder. If you...

Re: First mixer advice
The yammmy MG ones are not bad for the price. I've got the 16:4 FX one. Other reasonable priced mixers I'd rate are Spirit sound craft and Mackie. I used to use the spirit folio ones for years and they are a bit cleaner and more sterile than the yammy , Yammys definitely a touch more warmer and wool...

Headphones for Dance music production
Hi, does anyone have any experience or thoughts on these headphones for producing dance music. Mainly classic techno , progressive housey disco electro and some elec funk and ambient and electronica. Often like have quite a lot of bass in my tracks and want to detail this well on phones. AKG K702s B...

Re: What to buy - unimpressed by bass station 2
Just thought I'd update this, In the end I went for the Sub 37 ( got a very good deal on a mint one that had been used in only a few moog workshops/demos and not a shop demo unit!) Couldn't be happier, reckon the 2 octaves would have annoyed me. Also having 2 lfos and most parameters on the panel is...

Re: moog sub 37 tracks
Hi Megamanx, just researching buying a sub phatty (not the 37 initially tho) here and came across your tracks. Nice! Digging the first one more .. reminds me of A flock of Seagulls , wishing (for a photograph of you). Actually i've used very similar lead lines in my songs a few times , with homage t...

Re: What to buy - unimpressed by bass station 2
Yeah for live, still a bit limiting day to day but the Librarian editor looks well designed to deal with this.
Actually , wiping a clean 16 banks may be quite a good way to make you make new presets every session.

Re: What to buy - unimpressed by bass station 2
Possibly could be a good compromise , with the same or similar sound. 16 memories is not very good tho! Can see me using at least that in one live set . I guess could work with sys ex dumps but ideally 64 would be minimum needed for day to day. Could it accept Sys ex dumps or all midi parameters on ...

What to buy - unimpressed by bass station 2
Hi, I'm looking for another analogue synth. Primerally to bass and lead duties. Really would like it to have user presets and midi sync able LFOs and cc for filters and other parameters. As plan to use it live and need quick change over from songs and parts. BS 2 on paper fitted my needs, but just s...

Re: BIT99 .. no voices .. what to do?
Nice find! My black one looks pretty beat up. Would love a pristine white one ;) I tested mine by taking the 3328s out and testing one at a time in each socket and writing down remarks. Also trim pots beside the chips control the range of filter , which also can affect the volume of each voice , and...

Re: CEM 3328 - Crumar Bit 99
Cool, I've just bought a couple more 3328s as one isn't working. And got a some new dual op amp chips. There is definitely some strange tuning issues. It will be in tune when it first starts up, but strangely there is no resonance signal getting to the filters. Once warm - an hour or 5 mins with a h...

Re: CEM 3328 - Crumar Bit 99
Does anyone know if all cem 3328s are the same in spec, i.e. some advertised for a Mirage should be fine on a Bit or other synths, or are there specific types or sub spec for different synths?
