Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks
With Carlo Maria Cordio's synths I discovered that while his earlier work was all analog synths (Polymoog, Minimoog etc), for his later work (Aenigma, Beyond Darkness, Troll II, Zombi 5, Hitcher In The Dark, Beyond The Door III, he used Emulator III Kurzweil K250 Kurzweil RMX250 Roland D-50 Roland D...

Re: Has anyone ever actually used this patch...?
It was all over soundtracks in the late 80s and early 90s. It was almost a default soundtrack que from Italian composer Carlo Maria Cordio for the Filmrage production films (Beyond Darkness, Metamorphosis, The Curse II: The Bite, Aenigma, Hitcher In The Dark etc). It was also in a few late 80s slash...

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks
Any idea what John Harrison used for the Tales From The Darkside soundtrack? I know he used the Kurzweil K250 in the past on Day Of The Dead but not sure if that's what he's using here....sounds more D50ish.

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks
The Italian film composer/arranger/keyboardist/organist Carlo Maria Cordio played the synths and keys on the horror-scores to "Eaten Alive" (1980) and "Cannibal Ferox" (1981), both of which were composed by Roberto Donati. A lot of the music from the first film was reused in Ferox. The synths and k...

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks
Trying to figure out what was used on the Jonathan Elias score for VAMP (1986)
From my ears.
Emulator
Linn Drum
Sounds like an analog synth is doing the pads mostly...possible Jupiter-8 or Prophet-5?

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks
Dave Lawson used the following setup on the Runaway Train soundtrack: Prophet 5 rev 2, Yamaha DX-5, Synclavier II (mono sampling), Emulator II and a Linn 9000. The other synthesist Brian Gascoigne probably used a Fairlight but I'm not sure what else, although in this studio photo from 1985 you can ...

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks
Any idea what synths were used on Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer? It sounds like it may have been either a Fairlight or Emulator and possibly a DX7. Also what were all the synths used on the Runaway Train soundtrack? From reading this thread I've deduced Prophet 5 Yamaha DX7 Synclavier ii and po...

You wouldn't happen to know what gear was used on the Tangerine Dream scores The Park Is Mine and Near Dark do you? It sounds like a lot more digital oriented stuff like PPG and DX7s

Trying to get Emulator 2 samples into my Microsampler
I just acquired a Korg Micosampler and I'm interested in putting the original Emulator 2 samples into it. I have the Korg Wave Editor where I can take Wav files and sample them into the keyboard. The Micosampler can loop phrases and also map samples across the keyboard so you can play it on the key ...
