Elektron Machinedrum Sample Upload
I have a Machinedrum but I am finding it difficult to get samples into the guy. Can someone walk me through how I am supposed to do this including connections to the computer? Can I just use USB or do I need to have MIDI hooked up too? If MIDI do I need to have MIDI in/out? Or what's the deal? I am ...

Re: Radiohead "Morning Bell" Electric Piano
What is the difference between taking the high end off of EQ and a low-pass filter?

Radiohead "Morning Bell" Electric Piano
I heard that Thom Yorke plays a Fender Rhodes Mark I on this track, but it sounds effected to me.
Does anyone know what he is using? I am guessing some kind of a filter? What kind?
Thanks!
Mark

Re: Little Phatty Lack of Knobs
Do you use your third hand to play the keyboard? Hahaha! No sometimes I would turn up the sustain and release get some crazy things going...and sometimes I have taped down a single key and let things go crazy (my crude way of having a hold feature!) Emphasis is resonance on older Moogs like...

Re: Little Phatty Lack of Knobs
So I tried a Little Phatty at a synth shop in my fine city... The control/lack of knobs was much better than I expected...still wish I had the control of the Prodigy though...it is so much nicer to be able to just turn something and see results. Also I was a little annoyed that when a knob was switc...

Re: Looking for a budget 'fragile' sounding synth
My two cents...no software or virtual analog sounds like analog. Doesn't come close. But I did own an Ion (same engine as the Micron) and I could get it sounding pretty damn similar to my Juno and Prodigy...albeit a bit flatter...it was closer than I was expecting it to get. I was also never super h...

Re: Little Phatty Lack of Knobs
Thank you all! Yeah my big concerns were 1. filter and res at the same time 2. envelope I know I do simultaneous tweaks on my prodigy and it doesn't even have CV much less MIDI...so I concerned I am going to want to get crazy with a sequencer and the Phatty my my lack of nobbiness will make me curse...

Re: Synth Technicians and Repairs
Chris Hewitt in San Jose is AMAZING!!!!!!!!

He made my Prodigy and Juno sing like never before. He is fair...and just a really great guy to talk to. If he would let me I would just hang out in his shop for days.
I highly highly highly recommend him!

Little Phatty Lack of Knobs
I recently had to sell my Moog Prodigy to pay rent (sad times). So I was thinking about someday replacing it with a Little Phatty...but the lack of readily available controls on the Phatty has me concerned. Has this been a problem for people? Or do people not seem to mind? I have also considered the...

MS - 20 Controller
I have the MS 20 softward and have been controlling it with my Juno...making edits via my mouse... I hate this..and I love hardware. I have been seeing the MS20 controllers on ebay/craigslist for about $125-150 and I was wondering if they are worth the investment? Do they control other software synt...

Re: Help With This Sound
The very beginning ...the bass synth with modulation... I am fairly certain they use the Moog Taurus for it...I have seen them in concert where they go into this song from a bass synth freak out that is done by the Taurus... In concert it starts with a sustained bass note and then they add the modul...
