Re: What synth used Maurice Jarre's in Jacob's Ladder
That bellish sound I hear in the background is most likely the PPG Wave. Same goes for that low pitched voice.

Re: Disney Sing along songs intro
To me sounds like a song made just of LinnDrum and DX7.
Maybe anyone recognize some more synthesizers...

Synth ID : Where that synthetic glockenspiel/toy piano comes from?
Hello everyone! I'm looking for that certain preset of glockenspiel/toy piano or any information, which synth it could be. Sounds very digitally, somewhat like DX7, but I explored much of DX7's banks and didn't find that particular preset yet. The sound appears frequently in late 80's city-pop / jap...

Re: [Question to PPG Wave geeks] How to create that sound?
I am very interested in this topic myself, but recently I came across this video. It seemed to me very high-quality among all that are on the Internet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKO6iz4y8WA Thank you for recommending me that guy! Well, that DEMO is now the demo stage, of course and it's soundi...

The closest one I found so far is preset named "Voices" (program 12) from Emulator II's factory library.

Re: "Father to Son" by Phil Collins synth sound
First thought - FLUTE patch from DX7.
I think the same thing is in second half of "Aldebaran" by Enya.

Re: A-ha - Stay on these Roads drum sound
Funnily enough, just went to Synmania and there's a timpani sound on the Juno 106, Mags used to play that alot aswell as the DX7, he's even playing on it in recent years. If is timpani, I have the Roland Ju06 with 106 presets on it recently, just need less delay and a way to make trigger quick for ...

Re: A-ha - Stay on these Roads drum sound
0.47 and 0.48, 1.35 1.54 and 1.58. Timpani, never thought of that. Thanks. On first video. It's on second vid too Now I'm hearing it much better. Like that second pattern, which you call it "other octave", is just that timpani, but like 4 semitones up. I mixed quite around it, just separated the le...

Re: A-ha - Stay on these Roads drum sound
What I can tell you... To me it's sounding like a timpani from another sampler. You know, it's 1988 already, so possibilities what that particular timpani sound is originally from are countless. Moreover even on analog synths you can create such a percussive sound. Could you provide the timestamps w...

Re: Andrzej Zaucha 1988 live synth identification
Do you think the main rhythm/bass is also done on D-50? It sounds very digital. I think the bass is also D-50, lot of presets very similar to that one. Unfortunately didn't manage to find that particular one. Let me know if you wanna get that bass sound then maybe I will dig deeper, it's my passion...

Re: Andrzej Zaucha 1988 live synth identification
I actually dug deeper in the D-50 plugin and found out this "Digital Sound" preset, supposedly from PN-D50-01 expansion card. Just take a listen! I think they used a modified version of this preset in that song. http://www.synthmania.com/Roland%20PN-D50-01/Audio/88%20Digital%20Sound.mp3 It's Digita...

Re: Andrzej Zaucha 1988 live synth identification
Does anyone recognize what beasts were used in this song? It's called "Byłaś Serca Biciem" and the video is from live in Opole from 1988. https://youtu.be/eOoYW4QsGNQ?t=47 The sound that starts from 1:36 is particularly interesting. Good shots of keyboards are on 3:22 and from 4:28 till the end. He...

I know this guy has everything sounding like this.
Bro, when it comes to wondering which synth to make such, literally everything can sound like this. It's just the matter of setting ADSR so the gain of instrument increase and dicrease very slowly.

Re: 'Do they know its Christmas' main sound.
I didn't find any presets from this page that were apparent so I'm going with the DX7 no matter what Midge says lol. I'd find the post if you wanna see it. Umm, sorry, but by a chance I skipped the fact that the producer himself told you that he used PPG Wave for "everything else". So well... If Sy...

Re: 'Do they know its Christmas' main sound.
Sweet girl by his side, by the way. Hm, one thing he said which made my mind blowing was "too analogue to be addictive". Well, means that PPG Wave is analogue? Pitty that he didn't try to remade this on Waldorf's plugin. The fact is that you could remade such a sound just by cutting off freque...
