Re: Are the old Electribes getting more expensive/respected?

It was just too limited after a while. I mean you can't mix and match sounds across the entire soundbank? Why? It's like buying a keyboard and only being able to use Combis or splits. Nuts. Totally frustrating. The sample import of the ES-1 was so complicated with all these rules and format limitati...

Re: name that drum machine...

If all that's true, then why did you post that for your audio sample.

Re: Drum Synth Debate

I was going to suggest that when I was looking at the two side by side.
That's the old Electribe trick. You needed 3 or 4 of those guys to get it going.

I still have 3 (EA,ER & ES) collecting dust.
I can't bring myself to sell them.

Re: Anything better than a Jomox 888?

seems like for all the other sound categories there's always an Uber-Purchase that would solve the problem once and for all. Monster Sequencer with Realtime and Step with pads. Soon as I think about the sampling Machine drum the MPC series creeps up. I basically want a huge-storage-MPC with 16 steps...

mfb-522 http://www.analoguehaven.com/mfb/mfb522/ mfb-522 is a drumcomputer with a fully analogue sound engine that offers plenty of editing capabilities. it includes a step-sequencer with popular tr-style running-light-programming. memory locations are available for 72 patterns as well as for 8 songs.

Re: Drum Synth Debate

Searching for that next hardware drum machine is really a mission. Any possibility of loading the SM card with samples for different sounds? Looks like you're happy with the interface, but the sounds are a little long in the tooth. If you were unhapy with the workflow, feel or interface than a new d...

Re: Anything better than a Jomox 888?

Thanks. Also on consideration are the new Jomox kick and (coming soon) snare synth. I was looking the mfb stuff, but every review bangs on the build quality and noise floor. I was going with the multi voice synth, but everything needs a dedicated sequencer and that leads me right back to the MPC ser...

Re: Anything better than a Jomox 888?

Thanks. It does seem like I won't be able to escape samples and outboard after all.

Re: Anyone make music with Elektron boxes?

Congratulations on the first album and good luck with the second. I've also caught the bug and will be making a few albums based around the gear used. One album cover featured me playing an oversized Andromeda A6. http://www.lenzmen.com/sidedoctorfortress.jpg I think it's very cool that you were ins...

Re: Anyone make music with Elektron boxes?

Wow, what weird timing on KONCEPT 2- you're a nut! Aha! 4. Interlude is very Afrikkana in time dips. So how much is the box leading you and you leading the box? Sounds like you were inspired by the machinedrum...not to conduct an interview here, but I'd like to hear a little about your initial exper...

Re: Anyone make music with Elektron boxes?

Thanks for jumping in trondC. You replied while I was posting. You have some awesome tunes. I googled up Syn303. Acid Abuse catches my ear. He seems to have quite a deep kit list although he uses few pieces per track. The drums from Open Your Mind are the kind I'm trying to avoid. http://www.myspace...

Re: Anyone make music with Elektron boxes?

Thanks a lot for that. Dehli Dub won't play but Koala is awesome. Oh no, my favorite track is Tropical Nightmare (sounds and arrangement) made on his "long gone" MC-808. Ya know I'm leaning towards something that can sequence and hold 8 million drums so maybe I won't have to generate all the sounds ...

Anything better than a Jomox 888?

I'm looking for a drum synth (hopefully with a sequencer) that can create analogue drum sounds. I'm for a wide range of sound sculpting and not just 808/909 clones. I'm also looking for HEAVY sounds. Thick and powerful (not just kicks) so I' not looking for anything that sounds circuit-bent or 8-bit...

Anyone make music with Elektron boxes?

I'm hoping to find some users with Elektron products so I can hear some music using their drum machines. I'm not here to critique your music, but mostly interested in what kind of sounds real electronic musicans coax out of those boxes. I'd really appreciate some links to Elektron powered tunes. Tha...
