Re: Yamaha Reface

http://i61.tinypic.com/2zoeutj.jpg You know what is awesome!? This thing probably has programmable algorithms. It looks like each OP can be sent anywhere, and also have feedback. That is pretty damn powerful. They went minimal on hardware though. Not even a mod wheel of some kind. If less than say ...

Re: DSI Polyevolver encoders problem

The first batch of Poly Evolvers, and MEKs all had this. I did the Deoxit procedure twice to mine. I eventually ended up getting a PE version, which is infinitely better.

Re: Roland SH-09 Pitch problem

I've done an Sh2 by ear, which has 2 vcos. You need to calibrate everything in order. Each tuning step affects the other. It can be frustrating and counter intuitive.

I remember when the An1x came out. Everyone hated it. It spent years being a stupid and mocked synth.
Now, everyone's all in love with it.
I wasn't into synths then, but I can say that even in 2003, people loved the An1x.

Thanks man! I'm glad you dig it. I'm sure you can hear lots of D50 in my tracks too. Toxic Roulette uses lots. The bass and choir sounds definitely.

807273. July 1987. An oldie, but Plexicube kept it in really nice shape :)

Re: Yamaha Reface

One thing Yamaha has over Roland, is the fact that they actually know how to make a decent sounding VA synth. They were there in the beginning with the An1x. Roland VA's have always been weak IMO.

Re: Yamaha Reface

PreenFM is discontinued. His fm was all CPU based, which makes it sound different. Looks really cool though, spec wise. The interface doesn't look fun sadly.
