Mixer Main should go to the soundcard and Ctrl Room to your speakers.

But this routing issue should be covered in the manual for the mixer. I do not know that model at all.

Yea, I'd like to try one! :D I have no first-hand experience with it.

Yea, a bounce through a BBD delay, esp. a modulated one, can work wonders for some lower-fi degredation, but IIRC tallowwaters, you already have a Yamaha E1005/E1010, so I am guessing that does not fit your criteria. I suppose I never pursued this in any substantive way in hardware because I have fa...

I was going to suggest a hi-fi VCR, but that uses tape. Hmm. I think you could likely get something tasty happening with a FMR RNL combined with a Frostwave Resonator, but the combo of those starts exceeding cheap by a good margin. The Boss VF-1 has a tape echo algo, but I have never used it, so I d...

Re: For those who have MS2K + other VA

Korg's VA sound is extremely plastic... I think that depends on the synth in question, the ears of the listener, and the skills of the programmer. I think the couple dozen VA models/architectures on my Korg OASYS PCI sound quite excellent, some more traditional analog than others, but none of them ...

The JD-990 confuses me. I've had a JV-1080 for years with the Vintage Synth card and a few others. Always fascinated by the JD-800 I bought a JD-990 and put the Vintage card in it and got the custom patches off the net. The result, I couldn't really tell much difference in sound from the 1080 and t...

JD-800 can be very thick with a single tone layer, and 24 voices to boot. As I said in another thread, Strings card may be worth it if you need romplery string texture onboard. I never felt I needed this with the JD-800, because it excelled at a different kind of stringpad. The Dance card is neat on...

I know I already posted in this thread, but I have expanded my answer to a Top-10 of sorts, with some blah-blah-blah: Analogman Sunlion - A 2-in-1 pedal that combines the Analogman Beano Boost and Analogman Sunface, which are modern top-spec clones of the UK-1960s Dallas Rangemaster Treble Booster a...

I have tried several of Boss' other pedals. I guess I liked them all, but there are often pedals by other manufacturers I like better, so I see no reason to buy Boss just to buy Boss. I agree. That said, I own a Boss DC-2 Dimension C and Boss VB-2 Vibrato for the sole reason that no one else makes ...

A little bird told me that these boxes did get made in very, very limited numbers, but if you weren't an employee of Alesis/Numark at the time, you likely don't own one now.

Then again, magpies are known to steal and lie, so who knows.

None of the three modern-production tape echoes, e.g., Fulltone, Hiwatt, and Blue Coconut, deliver the audio mojo of a vintage Roland Space Echo/Chorus Echo. Some of that is the fact these older machines are worn, but much of it also has to do with things like the RE-201's circuits being discrete. c...
