Re: The gear I've had during the years...

So why do you all get through so much gear? I really feel I never need to buy another synth, that I could live another 50 years without getting to the bottom of the stuff I've got. Well...I bought a lot of gear early on when I really had no clue what I was doing and made some really questionable de...

Re: Intel Atom running XP

I just bought my wife a new laptop for school (pissed me off since I need a new one more than she did!) at Best Buy and I saw both the Eee PC and an Acer mini laptop. Boy, are they small! Anyhow, I asked the tech guys on-site about the Atom processor, since I had only read about them and didn't know...

Re: In Dire Need of a Moog Source Technical Manual

They are not original. I keep an eye out on Evilbay for original covers but never see any. I emailed Kevin Lightner about it once but he didn't have any or didn't know anyone who did. I'm used to them by now. As for the ad, I've never seen one like that. The Source in the ad might be a prototype. Th...

Re: Waldorf Blofeld KEYBOARD - w Samples ?!?

Still, that should put one in the States maybe in the $1500 - $1600 area, which makes the Blofeld keyboard a cheaper alternative to the Nord Wave. Very interesting.

Re: Service Manuals and Schematics!

After a weekend hunting down a Moog source service manual I realized that there's no central source for Source information. So I posted what I found here at http://members.tripod.com/redchapterjub ... ource.html. Factory patches, manuals, schematics, etc.

Re: In Dire Need of a Moog Source Technical Manual

And here's the URL for my Moog Source resource site. http://members.tripod.com/redchapterjubilee/moogsource.html Includes both service and user manuals, factory patch zip file, schemtaics & crazy Source documents. Hopefully I can find more interesting stuff to post there too. Maybe get people to sen...

I did see that. That's the official fix for it. Now we have to get to it!

Re: In Dire Need of a Moog Source Technical Manual

Heath hooked me up so I've got the manual, and you're right. There's no diagrams for disassembly, but there are some instructions though so we'll see if that helps. If not, we may have to send it to someone and I'm really hoping to avoid that. Anyhow, thanks to everyone and I'm now creating a little...

Re: In Dire Need of a Moog Source Technical Manual

Thanks, but that's the board schematics. I've got those from Encore Electronics. My membrane panel is fine. What I have is the corrosion on the power supply that leads to loss of voltage. We know what we need to do to fix the problem thanks to the Internets, however my tech and I ran into a snag whe...

In Dire Need of a Moog Source Technical Manual

Every link that I can find for one online is dead. Does anyone have a PDF anywhere? I'm trying to fix a "Crazy" Source issue but can't really tell how to take the synthesizer apart. HELP!!!!!

Re: Moog Rogue and Concertmate MG-1

I don't know if the synth is thinner because of the non-Moog oscillators or if it's just a sub-par signal path. After all, there's no pro-quality output on the MG-1. The RCA's were horrible on mine so I used the headphone jack out. All I know is head-to-head with the other two Moogs I've spent time ...

Re: Moog Rogue and Concertmate MG-1

Plus you gotta alter your playing style to take into account that while the synth engine is fully polyphonic the envelope is not. I had an MG-1 for three years (thanks for the props RonP!) and loved it. I played in a band for most of that time with a guy who used a Moog Rogue and we were able to com...

Re: Quality or Quantity?

I'm actually leaning more towards the single VCO polys like the Akai AX-60, SCI Six Trak or Polysix. I think I've just about had it with the Alpha Juno. I still find them so cheap and everytime I get one (on my 3rd BTW) I think I'll just give it more time and work harder to like it, but I just can't...
