Re: First tune for 5 years
This is getting good...who wants to buy the popcorn? I've recorded with 4 track cassette, 4 track open reel, 8 tracks on 1/2", 16 tracks on 2", and digital. Cassette is the worst of the bunch, basic frequency response and S/N measurements show it. Warm? Sure! When I taped LPs and CDs for listening i...

Re: Behringer DeepMind user mem question
Think about it...if all banks A-H can be overwritten, there is no need for separate "user" memory. the manual is clear: 2.15 Program Memory 1024 Programs arranged in 8 Banks of 128 Programs. It's not like your typical Roland or Yamaha synth with many banks of factory presets that cannot be overwritt...

Re: Mad World (Tears for Fears) vibrato sound? Which Synth?
Most 80s synthpop uses pretty basic patches or whatever presets they might have found in their new instrument. Few of those guys were sound design wizards.

Re: Mad World (Tears for Fears) vibrato sound? Which Synth?
It's just a simple square or triangle wave with vibrato on it. What synth? Could be anything.

This is also the screen which will be displayed when the DeepMind 12D is turned on. 2. The PROG (Programming) page will be displayed: The PROG (Programming) page is...

It's going to the first preset that comes up in the Behringer CS-80, even before all the Blade Runner patches.

Re: Proteus 2000
You really need to read the manual.
1. Select a preset.
2. Press the Edit button to access the Edit menu.
3. Go to the Instrument page and select instruments for Layers 1 and 2.
4. Press Home/Enter and use the Data Entry Control to advance to the PatchCord page.

Re: Proteus 2000
Who uses velocity? An awful lot of people, myself included. It makes playing the synth more expressive. Why do you think it's included in so many instruments. Velocity need not control volume, it can be used to open the filter, change envelope settings, switch between sample layers, etc. depending o...

Re: First tune for 5 years
What I usually do about loss of perspective is wrap it up and go back much later...like 6 months! Then it's easier to listen with a fresh ear.

Re: Drummer wanting to learn synth, need guidance
This is a free plugin that can be loaded into Reaper and used with any MIDI keyboard. As long as you only play the white keys, it locks your playing to any scale in any key. All you need to be able to understand about the keyboard is where C is. Keep in mind that as soon as you want to use notes th...
