Re: Proteus 2000

You wil lhave to go patch by patch, then. I didn't see anything in the manual suggesting that there is a global way to set velocity to be 0. There is no fixed velocity curve.

What is your controller keyboard? It's usually easy to set that for fixed velocity.

Good luck.

Re: New Sequential Prophet-5 Rev. 4

The SSM chips are being made again. Read this from SoundOnSound magazine.

As always, they probably won't sound 100% identical because of changes in process technology and such.

Re: Proteus 2000

It's a knob on the front panel. Do you have the manual ? Push the button above the headphone jack until the bottom LED to the right of it lights up. Dynamic 1 and 2 are the first knobs on the left. https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RbfsxG-AU_w/XFNhiDYMxtI/AAAAAAAMKEQ/c23VXLH7YZE_ACxcHbwT2FJTcmscqxrrQCLcBG...

Re: Proteus 2000

See pages 125 and 165 in the manual.

In most factory patches, Dynamic 1 on the front panel controls velocity response of the amplitude. Dynamic 2 controls velocity response for the filter.

Re: First tune for 5 years

I liked it overall, but it goes on for too long without enough changing to hold this listener's interest...something I am 100% guilty of in my own music. I agree with madtheory about the bass line. It's great in the intro but it's too busy and too repetitive to continue through the entire song. Just...

I only want to use it as a volume pedal and filter pedal to change tones on the fly
So buy two pedals...why blow $500 on a theremin?

Re: Drummer wanting to learn synth, need guidance

Apprecaite the input. So I would need a midi "controller" that is the synth, that plugs into my computer and uses some sort of software to generate the sounds, correct? Yes. You can probably use your V-drums as a controller right now, mapping each drum and cymbal to a different note. To my other po...

Re: Korg Opsix

it said that when you have a simple 2-operator algorithm -- one modulator modulating the carrier below it, then the following is true: If the frequency of the modulator equals the frequency of the carrier, then you get a sawtooth wave. If the frequency of the modulator is double the frequency of th...

Re: hi guys some noob moog questions

A theremin is a really difficult instrument to play in general, especially to play it in tune. Have you ever tried one? You can fake a theremin sound with most synths. All it needs is a sine or triangle wave oscillator, portamento (glide), and a mod wheel/joystick/paddle to dial in vibrato and treme...

Re: hi guys some noob moog questions

If the theremin has CV outputs, any synthesizer that has the matching CV inputs (at minimum, pitch and gate) can be controlled. Read spec sheets on the units.

The Minibrute 2 (with or without the keyboard) has the needed inputs.

You own both a MiniBrute and theremin already?

Re: Korg Opsix

It's not even in stores yet, so only Internet influencers have gotten thier hands on one. Anything anyone can post at this time would be pure speculation. Hand-on controls do simplify the programming process, but the concept of FM is completely different than subtractive synthesis, whether it's anal...

Re: Drummer wanting to learn synth, need guidance

If you want to create melodies and play chords, you have two main options. The first is using a keyboard of some kind, the other is to use a pad controller, where the pads can be mapped to play particular notes. The primary use of pad controllers is (surprise) playing drums, they evolved out of drum...

Re: hi guys some noob moog questions

The Moog Sub Phatty has CV inputs but not CV outputs. So the miniBrute can control the SubPhatty using CV but not the other way around.

Depends on what you are trying to do...both units have MIDI and either can control the other that way.
