If you don't have a DX, where did you get the tapes?

Re: Roland PR100 problem loading disks
I'm pretty sure that whatever is in those files is in a proprietary format, so any QD device other than another PR100 is unlikely to be able to read them.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Re: Roland U20 MIDI not working
If you got the patches into the unit, then at least the MIDI from computer to U20 is working. If it's not responding to MIDI notes from the computer, start by looking at all the channel settings (again). The patch load is not channelized and it got through. See page 149 of the manual about the MIDI ...

It's not a synthesizer, that's why it's not on this site.

Roland Zenology -- FREE
Released to little fanfare a few weeks back as part of the new v2.5 Roland Cloud, the Zen-core engine fo the Jupiter X, new Fantom, MC-707, etc. is now available as the Zenology softsynth. There is a free Lite version with only 176 patches plus 808 and 909 drum kits to get you hooked, a 3000+ patch ...

Re: Downsizing - versatile polysynth
I've always been a workstation guy, the fewer hardware pieces the better. While you were away, I actually sold all my hardware, now just using Logic and a MIDI controller. As an ex-Evolver owner, if I were to get a new poly it would likely be the Rev2 because of the similarities of the engine, plus ...

Re: "Casioheim" video
while the Casio CZ line had the 3 "rezo" waveforms to choose from, it seems to me that the DX line didn't provide resonance capability or effect, right? It's certainly not built-in, which is why so many modern FM synths have filters! There's probably some sneaky way of using a pair of operators to ...

Re: Help me choose a midrange workstation
I want sampling so I can record some of tones from XPand!2 and play them live without dragging my computer/audio interface along That's multisampling: multiple samples of an instrument to make it playable across the full keyboard without obvious pitch stretching and capturing the velocity response....

Re: Downsizing - versatile polysynth
I'm a little confused, is there more gear you are selling besides these polys?
A Prophet X is like $3000 in the US and if you sold all the stuff you had earmarked in your list it would be a lot less than that...at least in the US. So you won't be freeing up any money by doing that!

Re: Pitch wheel adjust
Are you sure about that, V301H? Pitch bend is just a MIDI message and the specified functionality is for the receiving device to set the range, not the transmitter . On a synth (as opposed to a controller) of course the bend range for the internal engine is adjustable but I have never used a synth o...

Re: Help me choose a midrange workstation
No experience with the others you mentioned which is why I wrote nothing. How important is the sampling function to you? The trend for at least the last 5 years is to remove multisampling from workstations, but allow multisample import . Yamaha even offers free auto-sampling tools to owners for this...

Re: Help me choose a midrange workstation
-Korg KROSS 2 -Roland FA-06 Sampling limited to one-shots and loops (i.e. focusing on drums) for both of these. No multismapling. -Yamaha MOXF6 (also looked at the MODX6 but I don't think it has sampling) Both have sample playback from flash memory (built-in for MODX, optional for MOXF), but neithe...

Re: Roland D-50 with two dead keys
Does the display still work?
Do the LEDs light up and respond to the switches?
Is there any noise at the audio outputs?
Does MIDI OUT work?
If the answer to all is NO, then start by checking the power supply.
