A "lite" version of SynthMaker comes on the DVD with Computer Music magazine every month. I haven't bothered to try it yet.

An analog one? Not that I know of. Plenty of digital pitch shifters though.

Future Retro dropping the Mobius

Buy one now if you want one...it's being discontinued so they can crank out more XSes and R2s.

Casio CZ5000, about 1988. I really wanted an ESQ-1 but it was too much $$$ and the CZ was similar enough (8-voice, on board sequencer) to entice me for $400 used.

The question you seem to be asking is whether you can use the knobs on the Juno to program the Korg. The answer is no . The knobs are just sending MIDI control signals which the Korg is responding to as it is played. There are some synthesizers that do allow you to program them with external MIDI co...

The important thing to remember whether it's FM, AM, ring mod or crossmod you are generating sideband frequencies that are not harmonically related to the carrier or modulator. The most common use is to create metallic sounds because in nature, struck metal objects (bells, gongs, etc.) typically hav...

The chorus is the EA-1's secret weapon. The maximum speed is 5KHz!!! You can use it to get some cool FM-like effects. Try sweeping the rate and recording that as a motion sequence.

Not kidding, simply disagreeing. Is that so hard to fathom? I'm betting the future will be more conducive to dance music, in a nutshell. Sorry, I knew you were just disagreeing. I'm 53 so have no real clue what younger players and listeners are into. My opinion is based on the simple fact that all ...

I disagree, respectfully....I think the market is bigger than ever. You have to be kidding! Yamaha has dropped out completely and Korg has come out with nothing new in 5 years. That leaves the Roland MC808 and whatever boutique machines you might consider a groovebox (Spektralis? Monomachine? Revol...

That's just a rumor over on the Korg forums. Korg has yet to formally announce the end of ESX/EMX production. Since both boxes use obsolete and hard to find SmartMedia and have not been replaced already, my guess is that they will hang around for awhile much like the MicroKorg has but I don't see a ...

Sounds like a h**l of a sequencer... how's the synth engine though? Well, it's a Korg :? It's OK but it has it's weak points...notably OSC2 is much less well-endowed than OSC1 and the filters aren't very fat sounding. You won't mistake it for a Moog...an ARP maybe 8) It makes up for the less than e...

I was always confused about the 2 - 32 polyphonic arps... what is the difference or catch? The Radias is always in a multitimbral mode. Each program can have up to 4 timbres in use, each program has one arpeggiator and two step sequencers. The arp and each sequencer can be assigned to any timbre . ...
