I wish I had $3300 to dispose of as I pleased, but alas, I don't.

Re: Either stupid or brilliant keyboard setup...
I'd say tape would damage the Nord way more, since that stuff STICKS.
Plus it wouldn't hold the weight of the Miniak either.

Re: CS-50 60 owners
There is something very special about a polyphonic synthesizer with a resonant high pass filter and a resonant low pass filter. There is something very special about an analog polyphonic that will cycle through voices with each note played (if you play one note over and over again, you're getting a...

Re: Prophet 6
Gees, it took me half a minute to realize that it was just a short loop. I was starting to get annoyed why he was playing the same thing over and over, not try a different sound comparison.

Re: AN1x - Amazing!
Cool, I'll download the Yamaha Synth Book on my ipad. Seems pretty neat. A "book" celebrating 40 years of Yamaha synthesizers. A complete history of Yamaha synths, an integrated virtual analog soft synth (an1x). A must-read for all synth fans, says the itunes description.

Re: CS-50 60 owners
Not multi-tracked to emulate a CS-80 but here is a track that uses the CS-50 for everything except the drums (and even one of the percussion sounds is the CS-50). http://youtu.be/vFmg050imQw The video was originally meant to be a backdrop for part of a live performance tha never materialized. That'...

Dammit all this Amiga talk, now I wanna break out WinUAE and play some old games. Sorry to bring the topic a bit off-road, guys.

Re: standalone vintage arpeggiator?
I had a 850MB 3,5" IDE drive wired into my A1200. Worked perfectly fine. More than enough storage back in the 90s. Had to leave the lid half off though to fit the drive inside, so it was lying on the outside. Not pretty, but whatever works. I was pretty heavily into the "warez" scene sadly, helping ...

Re: RMI Calliope UPDATE w/photos
RMI was quite ahead of their time yeah. They made the first all-digital synthesizer back in the early 70s too. Not FM, standard subtractive, but with different waveforms.

Re: standalone vintage arpeggiator?
Yeah the only problem is to get the contents of the ADF file into the RAM disk. It really shouldn't be harder than getting an ADF file reader on the Amiga though. Then you could just open the ADF files like any other archive and copy the contents to diskettes or the Amiga harddrive. Would require a ...

Re: standalone vintage arpeggiator?
The easiest way would be to use the ADF files directly on the Amiga via some kind of floppy emulator on the Amiga. But of course that wouldn't work on reset, since most A500 games are not made for harddrives you have to insert the disk when it powers up. Dunno if that exists even. Can easily hook th...

Re: What is this device?
Probably as an easy way to play some synth sounds.
He could just be playing it from the pads if they're one-shot sounds.
