Re: DX7s After Touch
The patches have to be programmed to respond to aftertouch. IIRC there are two parameters that need to be programmed: source /amount and destination. If either is at zero the keyboard will not respond to aftertouch.

Re: First encounter with a Prophet 5... slightly underwhelmed...
The P10 outputs are in stereo, P5 mono. I find the P10 to sound fuller/fatter.

+1
I know I can't tell the difference without the A/B and even then only with patches that are trying to accentuate the differences.

Re: Hartmann Neuron: Does a good demo exist?
The Neuron does Resynthesis on a macro level, rather than a micro : Here's a better explanation culled from the helpful people at www.surroundsfx.com The NAS, short for Neuron Audio System, is the synthesis engine in the Neuron. It was developed by Stephan M. Bernsee at Prosoniq. File under "resynth...

Re: Hartmann Neuron: Does a good demo exist?
There's a few 3rd party patchs available; some for purchase others as free downloads. As Heath said it excels at atmospheric patches but is also quite the sample mangler. What sets it apart is the realtime interface. In some ways better than expected, in others a let down. The hardware version is be...

Re: Any demos of the Octave Plateau Voyetra 8??
Looking at mini's pic and mine I'm amused that both voyerra are missing the arpeggiator knob cover. Mine fell off a few tears back during a move.

Re: Any demos of the Octave Plateau Voyetra 8??
Wow, you must be really unlucky. Most Voyetras were retrofitted for midi ( Although with XLR cabling rather than the standatd midi plug). Never had a chance to try the VPK ( there were at least two versions); was told by several people who had them not to bother. The rev thing is probably the most i...

Non famous users include ...me. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a247/ronjoseph1965/IMG_0251.jpg Nice machine although the interface is crummy. A few quirks (like XLR midi plug),weighs a ton, needs space due to heat output, noisy fan, hard to repair ( Peter Lanzilotta in NY) and a # of revisions, so...

Re: My $500 Prophet 5
I've got a rev 2 & a P10(defacto rev 3 chip set).the differences are noticable , although Some is just due to mono vs Stereo. The rev 2 seems brighter and slightly buzzier. I don't prefer one over the other.

Re: POP quiz: Which keyboard is this?
Being that the video was made in 1986 it shouldn't be too hard to figure out what could possibly be used. Or we could just ask Micke who I'm sure already KNOWS.
