Re: Machinedrum vs. Monomachine
I dunno if I'd suggest elektron gear for a "first" drum machine / sequencer. If you're dedicated and understand the concepts going on then maybe this will work out for you, but having spent a total of 20 minutes playing with elektron gear in the store I usually walked away happy if I made them make ...

Re: Which analog synth to buy?
get the most expensive virus you can afford. these things pipe aggression directly out their 1/4" jacks.

Re: PCB diagram for Virus TI?
What are you trying to accomplish? A Virus TI's PCB is going to be more like a custom computer than an old analog synth. Most of what's going on will be in middle PCB layers so it would mostly not be serviceable. That and the CPU/DSP will do heavy lifting and everything else will be relatively self ...

Re: Which iPhone Instrument App Should I Make?
I'd love to see an iOS app the recreates the Alesis MMT8 in conjunction with the MIDI mobilizer or something. It seems like only other sequencer that comes close to the MMT8 is a [JJ OS] MPC 1000 - I feel like I shouldn't need a giant hunk of hardware just to bring 8 MIDI loops in and out of patter...

Re: Korg Monotribe ?
GC will match any advertised price. I don't think the 208 qualifies as it's sort of a word of mouth thing, but they would certainly match 230. I know this has probably already been covered elsewhere, but how is it possible for places like GC and Nova to sell it at much lower prices like $230? It it...

Re: Which iPhone Instrument App Should I Make?
I don't know if I speak for the masses but I'd like to see a performance-oriented sampler/sequencer. Kind of like ableton's session view or the "seq24" program for linux/mac. Basically the user would write variable-length patterns, arrange them on a grid and then selectively turn them off or on. Out...

Re: Korg Monotribe ?
EXCITED just preordered I plan on adding an FX loop on the output so I can inline my mini-kaosspad before the amp/speaker, and whatever drum tweaks come out eventually EDIT: IMPORTANT INFO FOR GETTING PREORDER PRICE FROM NOVA: I just went and preordered and the price was to be $229 during checkout. ...

Re: Best studio monitors under ~$200 ?
for that price the only way to hear low end would be quality set of headphones, but do it in smallish doses or your ears will not last mixing heavy bass in headphones.

Re: BOSS SP-202 Dr. Sample question
Yes you can but it's very basic. If my memory serves me well, you have to do it on the fly by pressing the button at the right time. I was slowing down the sample to get more precision. Hope that helps... Yes, you have to do it by hand. I had one, it was fun, but the inability to resample a sequenc...

Re: Do you use MIDI or USB?
having done software development and debugging on usb I have to say I hate the protocol, but despite that I have about 5 usb devices in my studio. there was awhile where all day I'd do usb debugging, then go home and end up doing usb debugging.. and it started to make me hate life, lol usb devices: ...

Re: Starting over from scratch
had an axiom 25 and kinda hated it. the encoders are detented (so they click every step), and amazingly the drum pads do NOT send velocity when sending notes (!!). I would strongly suggest spending the $ and getting an akai mpk instead. I have not used the mpk but I have the mpd and find the build q...
