Re: Great examples of synth bass, and tips on how to achieve
Side note: The Enigma track inspired me to put a mono synth bass track into stereo (using the Voxengo free plug-in I linked above) that wasn't sitting right in the mix. Now it sounds great and really makes an impression when it comes in. Thanks, Enigma! ;) % of people listening to your track in the...

That's the spirit! If you hit snags and no one on the midibox.org forum helps you hit me up and I might be able to assist.pricklyrobot wrote: Further down the DIY rabbit hole I go!

Re: Does anyone make a MIDI clock divider/multiplier?
If you built a midibox CORE and participated on the midibox.org forums there would probably be people there who could help you. They're a very helpful community as long as you aren't trying to sell something :) Cool, maybe that's what I'll look into then. I'd be happy with just a clock divider. Act...

Re: Does anyone make a MIDI clock divider/multiplier?
You could definitely do it with a midibox CORE module. Like the old PIC based one (the new one would be overkill). Has anyone done a project like this, and documented it? I'm decent at soldering/assembly (I've built several pedals, a Sammich SID, and a homemade ribbon controller), but designing/pro...

Re: Great examples of synth bass, and tips on how to achieve
Funny that someone mentions keeping the bass part centered when this track definitely has a bass track with "sample delay" on it. (IE, bass part on right channel is ~10-20 samples behind the left channel). There's VSTs that can do that. A lot of the clarity of this bass part comes from the fact that...

Re: Most compact and versatile live-setup?
I used to play with an MPC1000, blofeld module, MFB503, and midi controller.
Changed to a laptop - the MPC1000 is great and solid performer but I love the versatility I get by using VSTs in live. Now i'm looking at it being laptop, MIDI controller, mopho keyboard.

Re: USB synths?
It's probably 100x harder to have audio over USB than it is to have MIDI over usb. One is using very little capacity and the other is pushing the entire USB system to it's limits and you will often run into weird bugs in either host or slave's endpoint chipsets, drivers, or some combination thereof....

Re: iPhone / iTouch music applications suggestions
will do! I might skip the launchpad as it's overkill for what I need (mostly just going forward/back a scene at a time in Live) so it might be a korg nanocontrol instead of the launchpad. Just found this: Hex controller! I've wanted to tr...
