Re: Machinedrum UW CTR-AL function demo :)
Awesome video!! I'm starting to understand this machine's capabilities when used properly. Also, you're really good at it. The fact that you're naturally changing so many parameters you can't put it into words shows your comfort with the machine. Very cool. I LOL'd at "BRB going to OUTER TECHNO SPAC...

Re: tip of 1/4" cable broke off & stuck...
Ugh. I did this to a old bandmate's mixer with a 1/8"-1/4" adapter in the headphone socket. Good luck.. pretty sure I failed and we just said "screw it", it was a crappy behringer.

Re: Midi to Cv Help!
Get a MIDI->USB separately. You can get them for very cheap, much cheaper to get that and a MIDI->CV converter separately than trying to find one with both built in.

Re: Korg MS-20 for the iPad
Don't think I was complaining, just stating that it's a letdown that there's no midi. The Line Six interface only officially supports backing up sysex and recording sequences within their own application as of right now, and even if it becomes open source, there's still no software implementation w...

Re: iPhone / iTouch music applications suggestions
My current plan for a live setup is ableton live, novation launchpad, mopho keyboard and my ipod running touchOSC with custom maps for each effect chain I'll alternately use in the live setup. Pretty excited about it actually.

Very clever dude, you found a what appears to be incomplete, and not especially useful synth part at a flea market, and now you want us to pay big bucks for your score... 250723493460 Well lucky for you - you live in America, and you can refuse to purchase anything (except health insurance apparent...

Re: MPC1000 vs. RS7000 as sequencer
96ppqn is the MIDI spec for timing.. there's no such thing as higher resolution.
MPC1000 is a great box, and also very sturdy. My old guitarist dropped mine on a sidewalk while loading, the side broke off and it was a $20 part ordered from the MPC store. No other damage.

Re: Waldorf Blofeld Keyboard : most underrated of 2009
Don't forget that the Waldorf also lets you store sample and run them through the filters, effects, etc. So, in terms of features, it has a competitive edge. True, but TBH, that spectre program was brutal to use, delayed, etc. Maybe if you came into it fresh today and everything works it'd be great...

Can anyone explain MachineDrum love?
A lot of machinedrum owners seem to swear by them. I've had a few chances to play with the machinedrum in a store (Moog Audio in Montreal) and I've been underwhelmed, mostly because I didn't know what I was doing so nothing was that amazing. Can anyone explain the "machinedrum effect" that makes it ...

Re: Waldorf Blofeld Keyboard : most underrated of 2009
I owned a blofeld for about a year. For the price there's nothing as powerful as it (for the module especially, often under $400?!) I loved: the interface. For me, the matrix + big screen made the blofeld the first synth I actually dove into programming nonstop. It was so fast to do so much. It's vi...

Re: Gear for techno/house/minimal ? (newbie)
What kind of advice are you hoping for, some secret synth that nobody knows about that is amazing but goes for 50 bucks? :? Well... yes! If you're serious, then you're being pretty unrealistic. Unless your willing to pay for broken synths and then fix them up. In general that's very often a losing ...

Re: Which synthesizer(s) do you regret getting or selling
regret:
the $60 SH1000 I owned. That filter was amazing. I wasn't really set up to multitrack record analog synths, and was too involved with using only software. Sold it for a profit but kinda miss it's bass
