Re: Best DAW on PC?

Started using reaper today. I like it so far! Except I think it installed ASIO drivers that most of my other audio editing software doesn't recognize so all of sudden to every other app I have no sound cards (eep!) On a side note: I've been wasting hours of my life chopping beats to mess with when t...

Re: Blofeld update suggestions

Apparently when they change the FX parameters, the architecture requires the DSP to restart processing the output (or something to that effect), hence the blip.

Re: just assembled the SX-150 and..

I love mine. Sounds great, I find the filter can do a bit of "talking" like "wuh wanh" kind of sounds. I've used it in a track I used to have up on my myspace, but I changed sounds and it's gone now.

Seems everyone I've seen that uses live does so only for, well, live performance. I've tried it for writing and didn't find it matched my style, maybe if I tried using it just in the DAW mode and not in the performance (or whatever it's called, the 'grid') mode.

Re: Best DAW on PC?

. buy a Mac quick... had a powerbook g4, the screen went out, then a year later it wouldn't charge the battery or boot of AC, and I decided to go back to machines that I can swap parts out of when something breaks (for less than the cost of replacing the whole thing). Too bad, too, cuz it was aweso...

Re: Best DAW on PC?

Thanks for the input! One of the things I'm hoping to gain by moving to a new DAW is integrated MIDI tracks / virtual instruments alongside audio tracks. I tried Reaper awhile ago and found it's MIDI implementation to be sort of horrendous. Maybe I just need to spend more time on it. I think I did t...

Best DAW on PC?

Ok the title's a bit of a joke, please no flames :) I have a break in my music life, my band is on hiatus since our bass player moved 5 hours away. I'm trying to sort of "upgrade" all of my current techniques, and take my "s**t" to the "next level". I currently record my music in cool-edit in multit...

Re: How to Overcome Blofeld Distortion Issue?

If you're at a software version before 1.11 I believe you want to upgrade to 1.11 before upgrading past that, or your wavetable names will be messed up.

did you try it? I was writing this from memory, but I'm pretty sure thats what I do. If not, maybe it's mix @ 64. Pretty sure it's mix @ 127 though.

Re: Blofeld update suggestions

I'm finding the best use for the FX is the following settings on FX 2: FX2: delay mix: 127 feedback: 0 length: short (4-10) spread:-64 polarity:negative try it. basically you're making a second copy of your sound, delayed a bit, effectively increasing the stereo image width. I do this all the time i...

Re: Another Dedicated Ableton Controller---from Novation!

Don't know if I'd want one without knobs and faders You could tack on a korg nano controller.. one of them is all knobs. I recently bought my own "dedicated USB controller" for DJing... a $10 USB keyboard from walmart. I markered the function of every key needed onto the board and it's actually ver...

New triphop track!! Blofeld / MFB503 / mini-kp

Hey all My rock band is on hiatus as our bass player moved away for grad school, so I'm keeping busy making a beat CD.. check out the first track from it! http://www.myspace.com/bentlove (only track in player) Synths are almost all blofeld - there's 1 microkorg track in the background near the end. ...
