Re: THinking of selling my blofeld?
Before you write off the Blofeld for something it doesn't do, look at everything it DOES do. It's not even the power of the Blofeld that I love so much, but it's the EASE you can dial into that power. I get an idea in my head, and I can just create it and don't have to find out halfway that a mod ro...

Re: Name that synth: Metric live in Montreal
Not watching the video as I don't have time right now as I'm busy packing a CS-20M
, but when I saw her live in Ottawa I think she was rocking a Pro One?

Re: The Blofeld's sample upgrade
Also for anyone hoping for improvements to the blofeld, besides minor fixes and such - Apparently the space where they store the OS.. is full... I dont see why they couldnt use a few KB of the sample flash memory. . but yeah.. I asked them about the possibility of a proper sequencer and they said t...

Re: The Blofeld's sample upgrade
does anyone know if you are able to keymap several samples in a single patch ? kind of like a sampler... You can get the same effect but since samples are just oscillator replacements you will need to make a seperate patch for every sample you want to play, then make a multipatch, load each single ...

Re: A good, small midi controller for note input?
If you don't need much tactile feel you could go with a korg nanokey. I have it and a netbook running reason (which it does quite well) as my new mobile writing rig If you need a bit more than that, m-audio has a whole slew of different midi keyboards with more or less knobs, weighted feel, etc. i h...

Re: How fast are your tracks?
Anywhere from 100-175bpm with my band, electrovillain. I asked a rock radio station DJ about it and he said just do what feels right. If you're trying to appease dance dj's playing the style of the minute though there is definitely more hoops to jump through, they're more fickle.

Re: The Official 'Secrets of the Studio' Thread!
Dont assume your band members know anything about anything. My guitarist and bassist until recently just plugged into their amps and started playing, even though every knob might have moved during transit. We spent an hour nailing down "the" sound we wanted and then drew them a patch page of knob po...

Am I missing something here? $2000?! http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/msg/1150214104.html There's a few things that watching craigslist like a hawk gives you as entertainment: - people doing public RE posts saying that other people's gibson/fender guitars are fake because you can tell by the hea...

wait, really? dude.. it prolly would have fetched at least some $ on ebay. People would get it as back up encoders, screen, power supply, etc.Pighood wrote:Thanks for the input, felliz...I pitched it in the dumpster.

Re: Hum noise connecting SH-101 to amp
I think the SH-101 can suffer from noise when either played from dying batteries or a low quality DC adapter? wait, I think it was that on batteries the pitch wavers and slowly drops as the batteries died.. I can't remember, Kap10Kurt told me and I was a little drunk at the time :D. Either way, give...

Re: Setup for producing outside in the backyard or elsewhere
mini kaoss pad is a must.
I had a rig like this (dr-110, tr505, kaoss pad, microkorg, bassstation keyboard) and slowly got rid of it all and now I just use a nintento DS with DS-10. It was fun though, I brought it on plane trips a few times and got a lot of funny looks.

Re: What to do with a dead Nord Modular engine?
The shop could be completely correct in saying "new motherboard". It's not a vintage analog synth where you can test each part on each board to find out the failed one with a multimeter, replace some caps and call it a day. It's more akin to a computer than anything else - an undocumented computer a...

how do you know the entire motherboard needs replacing? not just something in the powersupply?
