Re: Where can i get Curtis filters from?

before anyone jumps to conclusions about the statement synthacon made (see below), ive found the products chipforbrains has been selling to be quite good. theres another remanufactured part that someone in another country supplied us with that was total c**p, but at the same time total c**p is bette...

Re: Where can i get Curtis filters from?

I have a 106 that I picked up pretty cheap since one chip was dead. It took less than a week after I got it for two other voices to go kapow on me this is why its very important to do a burn in test before selling a 106, though that wont guarantee there wont be problems down the line. someones maki...

Re: The Complete DX7 by Howard Massey

ive got both versions of this book. not that ive ever had the time/interest to read them, but they do look quite complete. theyre like 2.5" thick. thats a lot of blabbing about dx7s. so i imagine that if you own a dx7 and you want to get really familiar with it, this book is the way to go. ;) mini

Re: Prophet VS?

h**l, they even use a DX7 in the video.
h**l is right. NIN used to regularly use DX7s..... they smashed them onstage. :(

Re: Where can i get Curtis filters from?

i wonder what it would cost to remanufacture some of these. thats something we may not be opposed to investing in... anyone ever think about that?

if its shoegaze you want, i think its the effects that are most important. a couple shoegaze musicians i know swear by the alesis midiverb 4. beyond that, for nice evolving sounds on a budget id say korg wavestation and yamaha tg33 are 2 good choices, though youll need to understand programming if y...

hit that perfect beat's definitely one of my favorite hi nrg tracks from the 80s. excellent programming on a couple other tracks on that album too, even better than their previous material. not to hijack this thread, but if you like hit that perfect beat, youd probably also like "this boys in love" ...

i like the pulse plus. weve got one that ive been thinking about keeping because its a pretty powerful analog monosynth.... in a tiny package. editing from the front panel is surprisingly easy, and i really like the 3 oscillators and stereo modulation.
