Re: The Oakley Sound Systems TM3030 TB clone Review
since Colin has also made the midi kit for the 303, i wonder if a midi track recorded from such midied 303 woudl play back accurately on this module, as far as accent/glides are concerned..?? im guessing theres a good chance he used the same standard as far as midi control setup. im thinkin of putti...

Re: Looking for a decent low-end analogue console
if u can get the price down a little bit i'd go with 6000, and yes id definetely re-cap it. not a myth at all. it has been done long before internet even existed. temperature in big consoles makes caps age prematurely. its common practice with old(er) consoles form soundcraft to Neve and SSL, to rec...

1. Jupiter 8
Rev2 Prophet close second.
2. CS-80 - if it would actually be the only instrument im to have, i'd definetely want velocity and poly at.

that Paolo's track on D50 is freakin awesome!! envokes nostalgia for late 80s n early 90s - so many great film scores, and newage/ambient albums of that era were done with this machine (eric serra). unmistakable. Don, do u happen to know if its all on-board reverb/delay on Paolo's track ? i had d550...

blimey, i like the sound of this thing. the countermelody deifnetely has ppg-ey charm. the sync sound definetely has some prophety sound to it, and very musical without the harsh edges usually associated with digi technology attempting typical analogueness. and i dig your tune too. sweet. id love to...

if the poster at least gave a hint if he is looking for another, albeit different character, ANALOG synth, or he is looking for just a different synth (as in digital, alternate snythesis types..) if the former is the case, i would for starters, suggest an analogue that is not a DCO machine (like 106...

Two filters- How much better than one? twice. 8) seriously, its even more than that, as combinations open the world of posibilities. first example of this, that i use daily, is andromeda. its really flexible in filter department. and with posibilities in filter routing and multiple outputs of SEM 1...

Re: I got a new favorite (now with pics)
I am just totally blown away by the power of my Andromeda. I have spent the last 4 days programming it and its just amazing. congratulations, i think you couldnt get a better synth to complement your setup. and it looks so shiny, brand new. been using it for 5yrs, and am still discovering things.. ...

i had DB9 for a yr. i wouldnt call it warmer than 303. its VCO is a Curtis 3340, and sounded very much liek it. - hard, focused ripping. 303 (which i had side by side) is comparably gooey, silky or edgy w resonance depending on settings.. i prefered its discrete VCO. tho both would have use in elect...

i might be totally off here, but this indeed reminds me of our old friend Carousel Candy. he pulled off stuff like this several times in the past on HC KSS. using various nicks like oldybendy ("should i go synthi yes no"), plastic baby etc.. but agenda is always the same, either: "having many synths...
