if i could have only one: id pick OB-X , limited but its organic sound is second to none, cept perhaps 4/8voice, to whom its very similar, aside from multimode filter. but i dont consider x-voice series for practical reasons, ie setting each of the 8 voices when making a sound, temperamental tuning,...

Would any of you consider the M1 a viable choice? if u r going for old KORG ROMplers, id much advise 01W or 01W/R instead. really great eatheral ambient textures. plinks, plonks, harps, voxy, evolving etc.. i ve used it extensively on an album in the 90s, and i remember a friend doin score for Nort...

Re: If you... the hardest thread ever
1.If you were to die in a couple of minutes, and you could tell all the people one truth about synthesizers and synthesis, something that could change the synth world for better, what would that be ? nothing. id just put on a Force Majeure from TD and .. enjoy to the last moment. 2.If you w...

i play<ed with it for some half n hour the other day in the store. ina few very very short lines: pros: from gigging point of view, i liked the idea of having both a decent VA/FM synth together with ROMpler capabilities doin mellotron choir/strings, in one neat small package. great programming UI as...

true many synths can be put to do ambient pads, esp if u got nice outboard. still, some are still better at it than others, from the get go. i feel you cant go wrong getting some kind of a virus. Virus C for example - it does this type of thing well, and the FX section w delay/reverb combos is very ...

i second most being said already. there's resemblance btwn Rev3 Prophet5 and OB-Xa due to several parts of Curtis (CEM) circuitry they share. however their filters and amplifiers are much different circuits, so it depends on the patch used, or application. a friend of mine uses them in combo and lov...

PS i want Colin to come up with new Sequentix (P4 ?), and FR to put out a QuadroMobius hehe, four tracks...

and remeber that A6 use NRPN so your sequencer can't control it's cutoff sending a MidiCC it must use NRPN... u can record the movements NRPN form the panel into the sequencer. and play back. so "performing" the tweaks aint a problem. tho editing them, esp on a hw sequnecer w tiny display, aint as ...

yeah i forgot to mention MKS70. warmest of them DCO boards. microwave (1) isnt my goto for pads. it got a nice gritty sound for wavetable sweeps n all sorts of things, like digital bass, arpeggios/seq sweeps, eeire leads, fx.. (my absolute fav waldorf). but warm/smooth string/pad aint its thing, at ...

of the ones i played, SH-2 and MS-20 gave amazing results. both have a unique, very non-hifi, very not "nice" character, that is just awesome for drum sounds, adding focus, gritt and (esp Ms-20) full out mayhem to normal, clean sounds. in comparison, mutator i use for exactly the oposite - it...
