Logos has some sections that really stand out, but overall i dont like it as much. boring. prefer Poland as well, tho each has its own vibe. all in all, i prefer their earlier setup from Tangram/Exit era, not the Logos/WhiteEagle. i love Jupiter8, but dont feel it fits as good with the TD's dark psy...

for starters id walk away from spectrasonics atmosphere. its really uninspiring and unflexible. second, u sound like everyone else who has it. not what u wanna do if going into dark ambinet or whatever.. u want to add your singature to sounds. RMX can be useful, especially if mangled later by plugs ...

ive had both RS-09 and VK-09 in my studio, and phuck they both sounded pretty thinnish n unconvincing. id always choose a sml hardware sampler (ridicolously cheap now) instead, and stuff it with good farfisa and vox samples, and get a really nice external pedal for vibrato and or leslie/whatever.. o...

Re: Best Modern Setup for 80s Style Sounds
there are 80s, and then there's 80s... depends what part of the decade.. just a reminder: Hi Folks I naturally have a leaning towards doing stuff kinda like from my younger days such as Human League, Depeche Mode, Gary Numan, Soft Cell, OMD, Yazoo etc...and really want their sounds to mess around wi...

if you want those sounds, just buy the old gear, i doubt you'll be satisfied with new stuff, unless its the dave smith pro 8 / moog phatty.. these virtual analogues, tho nice instruments in themselves dont really do the vintage thing properly. take it from a massive 80s head, if you want those soun...

SVC350 sounds great. i use it, and its a classic. but be careful with input levels - the range where it works best is quite narrow. i suggest u use an ext preamp and a compressor to slightly tame the dynamic range of the signal. and then enter at instrument output. digital vocoders are nice, and dif...

Thanks cluster. One last question for you (and please....I dont want to be banned for asking this  ) but does the A6 sound nicer to your ears than the P'08. No where near me has a P'08 in stock. I would really appreciate your opinion. DS heheh. well it sure has been done to death on VSE.. that...

my favorite ones are: microwave - gritty wavetabling into CEM filter n vca. closest u get to a PPG without actually getting a PPG. microwave XT - all digital, works great for ambient/illbient/cinematic textures, especially if run thru some analog fx and/or high end reverb. its UI allows for immediat...

Can anyone here comment on the quality of the '08 filter? Are we talking great, good, average? Im not familiar with the 3396 chip but im guessing its probably the most technically superior Curtis chip ever made - but does it sound good? Or does it sound budget mid 80's? technically superior is deba...

afaik no differences in jp6, as far as sound goes. roland didnt change its manufacturing process during time of production, like it did later during MKS-80 time, when they completely abandoned CEM to go for new gen of Roland IR chips. @Diametro: great picture  from what i can see its in incred...

ow does MKS80 rev.5 compares to JP-6 or rev.4? Or JX-10? Rev 5 features JX-10/MKS-70 filter and Rev3 oscillators. Its the only Super Jup with no CEMs. true it hasnt CEMs, but incorrect that it has vcos as in Rev3. Rev3 came out early 1984. and only a few were made, and was quickly replaced by Rev4,...

Re: Eventide - The kittens mittens?
So, what's decent prices? 1.5 to 2 for an Eclipse 1.8 - 2 for an DSP7000 ??? for an Orville There's a couple of Orville's on the bay for about 3k; is that reasonable? yes. thats a very good price. even 3.2K aint out of the ordinary. as long as its in top shape. id rather pay extra for a mint one. u...

1. DX or CZ? DX or TX802. i just like original FM sound. cutting bells, clicky marimbas, and wird fm fx sht 2. Juno-60 or Juno-106? Juno-60, much nicer (jp8) filter, fast hardware envelopes and arpeggiator. never liked 106. 3. SH-09 or SH-101? almost a tie. but i prefer discrete sound of SH-09 and S...
