Re: Well, I really need some suggestions for a first synth.
The new Korg R3 could also be an option. Small, light, with some controller (ok, not so many like on a MS-2000), and with allmost the same sound engine as in the Radias. And you can find them for 400 $. Synth module, it's more a kind of sound engine, but mostly without keys. Some modules have allmos...

Re: Do you hate when bands...
I hate when bands think they are king on stage and the best band in the world. The kind of aggressive attitude, "look at me, i'm the best...". I prefer bands that are on stage, give everything they can, give a wonderful ambiance ! The last really amazing i could listen was Incognito in Geneva. 12 mu...

Re: in ear/earphones monitor
On the iPod, i have a AKG K-324P in-ear. Cheap, but enough for the cheap mp3 sound of the iPod.
For better quality in the home studio, i have AKG 240, and K-601 cans. Definitly another league than the small in-ear...

Re: Piano and Organ : Nord Electro Rack or NI Komplete klassic
For live use, i would give a preference for the Nord Electro Rack. The last acoustic piano you can download on the clavia website is really not bad. Fits good in a mix. It's the same for the organ sound. Perhaps not the best available today, but perfect sounding for live use. And with a great stabil...

Re: looking for something similar to tr-707
The TR-707 is the cheapest DM with individual outs and such an easy user interface. Really ! I also have a Yamaha RX-5. It has the individual outs, you have more possibilities than on a 707, but the user interface is definitly NOT so user friendly. It's more a kind of DX-7 Drum Machine...But you can...

This last video is a killer one...
The attitude of the musician is so great, and don't fit to the music.
Thanks for sharing this Juno 6 video.

Re: The Korg MS-20 vs. The Yamaha CS-15
I also had the MS-20, but sold it. And kept the CS-15 ! I prefer by far the keyboard on the CS-15, than the ultra noisy MS Keyboard. And i also sold the MS-20 to save cash for a real modular... I sold my original MS-20 and MS-50 to buy a dot com! :D Yeah...very good choice ! I will do the same...a ...

Re: The Korg MS-20 vs. The Yamaha CS-15
I reckon an MS-20 would complement my CS-15 nicely... (nudge nudge) I sometimes wish it had greater resonance, as the lack of self-oscillation means it doesn't really squeal - but you can get some great sounds out of these things regardless. You can modify a little bit the filter of the CS-1...

Re: Quality or Quantity?
Sometimes, less is more. I don't have a lot of gear like some guys owns here on the forum. But i also not only have 1 workstation for everything. I have about 10 keyboards. Some are really good, other are more "cheap". But i'm using every machine. I don't have a machine that is laying around, or nev...

Re: How to acheive this sound?
Since your Juno 106 is equiped with midi, you can use it with your audio-midi interface with a software sequencer on your computer. Another solution is to buy a midi sequencer. From small and cheap (MFB Step 64) to big and expensive... With my Juno 60, i have the JSQ-60. But you can only use it with...

Re: I'm 16 and beginning to gig...does this rig sound good?
And you're absolutely right Stab Frenzy... =D> When the keyboarder only have 1 or 2 keyboards, it's allways better to give 2 stereo signals on 4 jack cables, and the FOH can make the mix like they have too, with the other band members. I have 4 keyboards on stage, 2 are stereo, the 2 other are mono....

Re: lexicon reverb mx 300
Yes...i also have a Lexicon MX-300. Worth every dollar I payed for it. For the moment, i never used it in combination (or integration) in a DAW, 'cause for the moment i'm playing music without software. Only hardware...hardware sequencer...The MX-300 is hooked on my Soundcraft mixing console. I pref...

Re: Live Sound! For better or for worse.
Of course you will hear a difference between a cheap chinese DI-Box for 35$ and a Countryman Typ 85 for allmost 390 $. But don't forget that the cables, the instrument, the amp, the main mix-console, the PA, and last but not least the musicin himself should be high-end too... :D If you really want t...

  You're right Sexor...the dollar is crazy ! But today, the conversion is about : 1Euro = 1.50 $ = 1.63 frs (switzerland) I'm talking about prices around 1'500 Euros for a Rhodes Piano in good shape. And in america you can find very good one on Craigslist for a few hundred dollars.... :twi...
