Pff! Consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds ;).

The TX81z gets my vote, and it's the only one. Don't need prices to be driven up.

Re: Those embaressing questions

You know I've gone all this way and time without understanding how a Compressor works, I just use a preset in fruity and hope it carries the signal through the rest.... but seeing how impactful it is with drums, I'd like to get one into my studio. Any reccomendations? Yes. The compressor has knobs....

i despise outboard gear No you don't. What? Really? What? Why? - CM  okay, well, i suppose i don't despise outboard effects themselves , but i really don't like patching out; i don't like the cabling; Oh yes, the cabling. Good lord, what a mess. Worst part; when you're done, you can do it all ...

Yeah. If you know anything about FM algorithms; http://www.denhaku.com/86/dx127.jpg

I think nr. 5 is used which allows 2 pairs of operators next to eachother, but I'd have to look it up again.

Re: I just bought a NL2x. I'm sooooo disappointed...

On a related issue, has the Nord Modular rack been discontinued? Since a long time already; even the G2's going EOL. The first one I didn't get. Displays are bad because people feel an urge to program deeper / or displays require the engineering team to spend more time designing the synth ? Enginee...

Re: Im looking to buy my first synth, any suggestions?

I just bought Live Ableton and I want a synth controller to be able to make hip-hop beats and electro mixes. http://www.zzounds.com/item--NOVXIO25 would be the best option; I don't think there's anything that's a lot cheaper. Yes, it's above your original budget but it solves 3 of your problems (MI...

Re: question about yamaha w7

I have the W5, and the answer's yes. Its CPU is not one of the fastest, though (a problem that also has plagued the EX-series) so if you're moving the modwheel on too many tracks it might hiccup. Don't see it as $140 for a sequencer - that $140 gets you a workstation with better samples than the SY-...

Re: Trying to create my first Drum Machine

So it sounds like you've done this before : ) Actually, no. I've briefly considered trying my hand at building my own modular with help from http://yusynth.net/ but my project got brutally grounded by the fact that even an old, secondhand oscilloscope is expensive and I completely failed my electro...

Somewhat ---- Hardly, but I have a friend who's been an electrician for years and has built his own amps, cabinets, and effect pedals so he is going to work with me. Re: Trying to create my first Drum Machine

No I want to design my own drum machine. Since I'm a complete noob at building these I wanted my first one to be ROMpler based, because that would be relatively easy (at least I think it would be relatively easy) as opposed to making a pure analog machine. With no idea of what you know or not know ...

Better quality: http://dic.nicovideo.jp/v/sm1066249 and http://dic.nicovideo.jp/v/sm1006744 (and stereo, too!)

I like the Robots cover better, but the stereo image is a bit weird.

Re: 100 Ways to Make Vintage Sounds on a Computer

In most of the gear pics I see people are running their Jupiter 8s and CS-80s and Andromedas through cheap Behringer mixers, so maybe that's why they sound so analogue and vintage. ;) Ugh. You'd almost kick these people. Thousands of dollars for the best, fattest, most beautiful vintage modular kno...

Re: very simple help with machinedrum midi

This should work right out of the box - but it could be that the Machinedrum is only sending MIDI out on channel 10 (which is generally reserved for drums). Cubase should have a way to accept MIDI signals from all channels. If you bought your Machinedrum secondhand, the previous owner might've chang...
