Re: Then..... what soft sound the nearest to a Roland jupiter 8?
sadly, the answer is none. Yet. that's a big reason we'll never get software to sound just like hardware, especially vintage hardware. The weakest part in the emulation chain is not the audio interface. Not the code. Not the CPU. It's your ears. Once you can no longer hear the difference - and that...

Re: What old school synth produced this kind of bass?
In this case it's really the one and only LatelyBass/SolidBass. Another hint is the velocity sensitivity, and the envelopes; the DX has exponential envelopes which is ideal for snappy sounds.
You hear 2 sounds - an upfront higher-pitched part and another part an octave lower.

Hope someone clones them.
If there's nobody stepping up to the job, it's time to learn about analog electronics yourself. Chips are miniaturized circuits; if you can recreate the circuits on a bigger board, the only problem is size.
Right?

Re: becoming a Substractive Synthesis Wizard
How would i become a Substractive Synthesis Wizard? Tweak systematically. Start from an init patch. Go listen to all the combinations of 2 oscillators - check what each waveform does. Then, detune oscillator 2 12 semitones up. Repeat listening to the waveforms combinations; so you know what a osc 1...

Everything from Native Instruments. Massive is awesome. Also, U-He Zebra. Also, Rob Papen's stuff.

Re: Korg N264, Korg N364, Yamaha CS6x, Korg Wavestation, Roland
what type of genres of music you'd say the synth would work more for? Electronic stuff. I'd say it's Yamaha's answer to the Roland XP-30 with a nudge to the groovebox crowd. What are the major differences and similarities between the type of sounds that the N264 and N364 produces? I think there's n...

Re: recreating 80s vibes on waldorf q lite?
Oscillator 1: square/pulse. Oscillator 2: saw. Oscillator 3: squarewave, -12 semitones. Single filter, PPG model, keep the envelopes simple and use that as a basis - it's a Juno-106, then. Another: Oscillator 1: wavetable. Oscillator 2: whatever it does, it should copy what 1 does. Again, single PPG...

Next time don't title your topic "total noob question" - call it what it is, like "E-mu Emax HD - can't switch on".

Try detuning oscillator 2 not as much as you do now - the detune should be so that you hear an almost flanging-like effect.

Re: alternatives to pro tools LE w/ more than 18 inputs
Trying to fleece you extra for MP3 support? Seriously, charging you for the option to BOUNCE an MP3? MP3 support in pretty much every audio application means you're getting fleeced, thanks to the licensing costs which go to Fraunhofer. Whether you save your project and export to mp3 or you save you...

Re: im in love with my JX8P
The MKS-70, JX8P, JX-10 and Alpha-Junos all use the same filter topology: A 2 Pole lowpass in series with a 2 Pole Bandpass. What's the use of the bandpass in this case if it appears to be unused? They were built to be bargain DX7 substitutes The membrane button design was a big hit, though, but it...

In this case it saved me buying CS80v, which is arguably a good thingAutomatic Gainsay wrote:This is the same as saying "these particle-board shelves with woodgrain stickers on them look JUST LIKE WOODEN SHELVES!"
