1) Arguing with fans is pointless as it takes a personal revelation to make 'm change their opinion. 2) Ticket scalpers (legit and nonlegit ones) ask whatever prices the market will bear. 3) Jarre's live stuff differs either wildly or a little bit from his album stuff, so I don't think he'd have to ...

Difficult? The ancestor of the String Ensemble - the Eminent organs. Now, the 310 is relatively simple, the 2500 Grand Theatre I had the chance to play with today is absolutely daunting; every part is covered with interface - but the parts aren't grouped like on a regular analog synth. Setting every...

That said, I like eating the grass on both sides of the fence and always work from the ground up with a 'blank' patch on the LP, to give me my 'fiddling' fix and love the ability to save it to memory. One of the issues I've always had with patches was was organizing them - storing them, nami...

Obvious candidates for DIY : a sampler with a lot of layering going on (E-mu series has a very nice modulation matrix and a huge set of filters which can make endless evolving pads if you have good source material). For the rest Korg Wavestation, Yamha FS1R, Waldorf XT (provided that you have effect...

well this certainly is new and relevant Oops, so sorry to offend, Mr. "Senior Member". No, mome rath is right. You should've complained back in 2006, not now when everyone's gotten over it. What a marketing blunder on the part of Moog! I'd like to have blunders where I have not that much faith in t...

Yes, but you are missing the point. With WYSIWYG you always know where you stand, with synths that include patch memory and don't have endless rotaries with LEDs round 'em you don't. Sometimes this actually is a big deal as twiddling knobs to get them at their actual values can sometimes hinder the...

Okay, the display, I can agree with; it's too much of a seduction to NOT put anything else on it besides patch names. Prophet 5 has memory, Polymoog has memory, Jupiter 8 has memory, CS80 has memory. Digital c**p? I mean, anyone trying to tell me that it makes a synthesizer sound worse (granted, the...

It's funny because synthesizers were hailed as futuristic instruments. Instead we long for a time that was 30 years ago.

Which is a much more valid reason to regret anything than chastizing yourself because you happened to like a DX7 ;).

Hey woah guys your getting theb whole price thing WRONG! Gearjunkies (Drugjunkies more like  ) have got it wrong! Take a look at this! The REAL Virus Snow Price! No, they don't. Amazona makes a wild guess at the price, too ("Wir tippen der Preis" means "we guess the price is") - I trust Gearju...

Actually, the best option is to make so-called vector-based files; these are resolution independent. Since a lot of people do know Photoshop and a lot less of 'm know Illustrator here's my offer - I'll make a vector version of the winning logo. This means you don't have to submit a really huge versi...

Get a random patch generator and hit it enough times, eventually you'll stumble into them.

He's pretty good at programming - maybe he doesn't keep his patches but just recreates them from the ground up every time? Might not be odd considering his oblique strategies ;).

Elsong's DX7 presets. Heard the Rhodes in that? Yeah.
