If you want that 'hands on' approach to DX programming you could do worse than get one of these. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/224/535782893_205ae873d9.jpg Care to type up a short bit of how to get this going? I've been interested in a knobby controller for a while now, it's just that the SysEx st...

I've made a quick vid http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=R-hML-I5RV0 Did I already tell you that you are the best? :D . Besides the classic FM stuff, it covers most of my VA needs. Enough to keep it forever and never buy a VA synth. Since when does FM cover your "VA needs"? Are you serious? Maybe his VA...

Roland JV1080 with Special FX and Asia/World expansions. Special effects is basically the Distorted Reality sample CD in a ROM.

I'd see Rick Wakeman as one of the people who wouldn't sweat transposing on the fly at all. Yes, it's annoying for your muscle memory, but virtuosity kind of makes up for that.

pardon the ignorance, but what are we looking at? it looks like a basic organ.. is it one of those eminent organs with strings? Yes, it is :). There are several variations - there's also the "Theatre" version which has lights and colorful buttons, but this is the basic one. 2 stringensembles in one...

theyre so cheap over there Yeah. I got this one for free as long as I'd haul it back home myself, otherwise it would've gone to the dump January 1st, and I didn't want that to happen. enjoy. one of the trademark sounds of synth music history. I should get a Smallstone and Electric Mistress f...

We don't do Christmas with the presents - we adhere to Sinterklaas - but call it a belated Christmas present ;). http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/2827/studioe310u0to5.jpg Not my picture - mine's missing some of the slider caps, but otherwise it's in fine condition; I'm going to check the insides a...

1) it's ubiquitous, not rare at all
2) it's cheap
3) the tiny keys aren't that perfect
4) most importantly, it stays 100% functional.

Fair enough, lol I guess we really dont even know what the thing sounds like yet. If it's sampler, I don't see why it can't sound like a machinedrum (provided that you're not modulating anything). Wow, the combination of XOX and MPC was what I sent an e-mail for when I saw the BoomChik. So, you're ...

If your Bass Station matches this screenshot: http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/shop_image/product/4977473d56838a6c190a459dafff6c07.jpg All values are given in percentages since some synths go from 0 to 99, some from 0 to 127, and others may do it in a completely different way again. Set portamento to 1...

Wow, the combination of XOX and MPC was what I sent an e-mail for when I saw the BoomChik. This is absolutely great and it's going to be an amazing groovebox that is a big step up from the Electribes! Yay! :D The only thing I'd probably change would be on the digital version (odd that they're not eq...

One can have 'm for free here in the Netherlands sometimes, provided that you don't mind minor technical things to fix/clean and you don't mind driving 60 miles or so to load it up and take it back home :).

It's actually better than a regular Solina, but it's just not as portable.

I hate when people refer to the term "techno sounds". It's ignorant and condescending.
Semi-related: people calling everything remotely electronic "techno". Yes, boxes and genres are stupid, but less so than throwing everything in one big heap.
