Hello Richard, I first started getting into the use of analog products because of an interest in emulating the sounds from many of my favourite records from the 70's and 80's. The first two I used regularly were the ARP Axxe and the Roland JX-8p/PG-800. I felt much more adventure with those two than...

Somehow, the A6 calls out to me for that price range moreso than the Omega module.

Im really enjoying my M1. It allows me to turn my ideas into reality. I gigged it for the first time last night and my band was like 'is that an M1!'. Everyone fell in love with it and so did i. Never owned an M1 myself, but as the owner of an 05rw (which sounds relatively similar), I congratulate ...

Supernova 2(r) It may not have a certain developer, it may not have wooden edges, it may not have tons of subjective cult stuff attached to it: *but*, it's one of the ultimate studio workhorses with usually more voices, DSPs and features than comparable models from its generation (and it still hold...

Believe it or not, I strongly considered purchasing a KS4 five years ago when there was one atManny's Mailbox Music in NYC. I was playing it and enjoying what I heard. The sound reminded me strongly of the SuperNova II.

Does the KS series also share a common thread with the Nova series?

What is the aftertouch like on the DX7 MkII FD? I'm leaning towards the keyboard version, which may later control the microKorg or MS 2000r.

I used to put my guitar and digital synth(s) through my ARP Axxe's filter. Now, if I want to do the same thing, I use the Minimoog Voyager's filters. (I'd do likewise with a microKorg.)

Hammond XK1 Organ

[Not sure which board to put this thread in.] I've been to Guitar Center (on the northside of Indianapolis) a slew of times in the last seven days (purchased a guitar). While there, I tried the Hammond XK1 and really liked what I heard, as well as the keyboard touch. Have any of you purchased this o...

I've often believed that the Source has already been replaced by the Studio Electronics ATC-X module. The Little Phatty is a great little synth, and I may end up getting one to compliment my Voyager one of these years. But, I have trouble considering it a new-generation Source. I can definitely see ...

The DX-21 is a good toy. I borrowed one from a friend a couple of years ago. I liked it, but the most it really did for me was whet my apetite for a DX instrument with either 6 operators or touch response. I've spent the last two years trying to decide which one to get. First, I think of the DX7 MkI...

Aw, you beat me to it. If "synthesis" is about building sounds mainly from electronic sources, the Telharmonium should constitute the first "synthesizer."
