Sansui WS-X1

Do any of you have/use a rare piece called the Sansui WS-X1 six-track dual-cassette recorder? I've had one of them for 2 - 3 years. Haven't come close to learning how the recorder works; I mainly use the 8-channel mixer. For those of you who have one, I've considered using it for recording drums int...

The Casio keyboard I had was called a ToneBank, and you could edit some of the parameters (there was a pitch-shift function), but if it could be played monophonically, I never knew. One main reason I let go of it is that it didn't have a touch-sensitive keyboard. Good for basslines, brass, strings, ...

I use my microKorg for annoying friends with the vocoder... ...yes i think that's about it. That's what i've always found the main draw of the mK - or the MS2000 series. I imagine, if I actually owned one, I'd also want to use it for some of the same stuff I use my Voyager and JX-10 for, as well as...

A brand new Voyager with a Fire Backlight and a Cherry finish.... Ver 3 memory and Quiet II technology. Arrives at my door next Wednesday. Just a little more than those nuts are selling used ones on ebay for. Man, is the used Voyager market inflated!! I guess it's a good sign that they retain their...

76 key weighted keyboard with velocity and poly-aftertouch, midi, split/layer, double/unison, sequencer, 128 patces, size ;) I also believe it have software envelopes rather than the hardware ones in the p5 . Probably some more stuff as well... If I wanted to choose between original Sequential Prop...

I was going to ask about whether or not I should get an E-Mu MP-7 for under $200 bucks at my Guitar Center. (Should've gotten them to plug it in and pwer it up.) What's it really worth?

Ok after shopping around now it seems the nord is twice the price as the micron. Would the ion be a good option considering what I'm lookin for? Its in between prices. I know I lose the sequencer but I could always get an external one I guess if I feel I need it If you can do without the drum machi...

Both have pro's and con's. Nord = more realtime control. Micron = effects + vocoder + sequencer/drum machine, in addition to the synth section.

Didn't poly-aftertouch find its way into any of the Yamaha Motif workstations or S-series synths?

I've always fantasized having a Prophet T8. I guess that a P08 tabletop will have to sub for that.

I use two of my synths as controllers, the QS6 and the JX-10. The JX has expanded key range, but its aftertouch is a bit behind the times, and it's only got a couple of controls on it. The QS6 has fewer keys, but it's got better aftertouch. Same controller hassle, though. I like the Alesis better fo...

I couldn't answer fro firsthand experience. But, I once heard a story from a former Chroma Expander owner. He said that the wooden parts of the chasis started to come apart after a while. Someone else said that the Chroma casing was made of particle board. Is this true?

I only know that if I had to choose between the two, I'd choose the A-Station. I''ve always had a bit of a problem with 2-octave keyboards, even if they have got aftertouch. yeah but the A Station has 0 octaves :? My current MIDI keyboards have 44 (Minimoog Voyager), 61 (Alesis QS6) and 76 notes (R...

You'll have another one someday, if you save a cool hundred dollars a month for (maybe) seven months (give or take). It's not as expensive as the Minimoog, Odyssey, OB1 or the like, is it?

My first synth (regretably) was my Alesis QS6. I got it after my father heard me doing a screwed-up rendition of "Fooling Yourself" by Styx on a digital piano around the end of 1996. He wanted me to have a synthesizer. My grandfather was pitching in the money. I could've had a more expensive Roland,...
