You could possibly get the results you want from a microKorg Not quite the same as the ones mentioned above, but the results are rewarding.

The Sequential Pro-One moded with the UC-1 sequencer. If it's the model I'm thinking of, the Pro-One sounds better with user-created sequences than with the arpeggiator. Having had the opportunity to listen to it in use a year-and-a-half ago, I was amazed at ho a user-created patch and a user-creat...

The Mono/Poly was adequately named. If it were meant to function more as a polysynth, the abbreviations would be reversed: Poly/Mono.

The PolySix is very different from the Mono/Poly, but you also can't deny that one (kind of) came from the other.

No extensive use of any sequencers that are embedded in hardware synths. I only have one of my own with a seq, the JX-10. Never felt any inclination to use it, though. Not only is it limited to 800 notes at the most, but it's only usable with an m-64c or m-16c (in which it's limited to 400 notes). I...

Supposedly, it's no crime to appreciate the expanded texture that comes from having digital sounds in an analog subtractive domain. I just wish the Poly-Evolver Rack was more controllable from its own front panel, like the Mono-Evolver module. Sadly, I've never gotten to play any of the Evolver mode...

If I had a "live set-up" as a keyboard player, it would currently be:

(bottom to top)
Roland JX-10
Korg 05rw
Alesis QS6

(off to left)
Minimoog Voyager Electric Blue

If a miracle happens, that bloody Yamaha CP70 piaon of mine will find its way into my apartment (and under the Minimoog).

Personally, i much prefer the mighty Polysix. I played the mono/poly last month and was not impressed. The arpeggiator and x-mod were awsome but it was not very characterful compared to my CS-40M. Its a nice synth anyway. You know, a comment like that should make one wonder why the Mono/Poly is Mr....

Isn't there only one filter in the ARP Omni, Solina, Korg Trident and (one per section of the) Moog Opus 3? Those synths get buy with only one filter. Not exactly the same, but it is a bit similar to whatever's inside of the Mono/Poly. The PolySix was designed to be asuper-slim competitor of the Pro...

Do any of you know if those are (approximately) the same innards of the P-Moog synthesizer?

That brings something up that I've sometimes thought about. The Moogerfoogers are designed to interact with each other as in a classic Moog modular. It's possible to control the MF-101 from a Voyager front panel, but can the cutoff freq. be controlled from other synths? (Probably a dumb question, si...

When I first found out about the OB12 and the OB3 organ products, a part of me began living in anticipation of what they'd do next. Later on, I ascertained that they'd quit building new gear under this early 2000's encarnation of Oberheim. who knows? Let's cross fingers that Tom Oberheim will do a M...

I'll take this opportunity to voice an interest I've long held. At one point, I saw an aricle about both of Madonna's keyboard players using both the original V-Synth and a version of the Fantom. What I'd like to know is this: what does the V-Snth/V-Synth GT do that the Fantoms can't? Or any other s...

lord no.
What's the beef? Dusk's already got Tweak Central. Why not get another digital synth that's a little more ubiquitus? The DX synths can do lots of things the Nords can't, and the Nord does things the DX7 can't.
