Re: sysex checksum error - Korg WS
Yes, one ram bank contains three dumps - eg for Ram1, there will be a dump for Ram1 Performances, one for Ram1 Patches, and Ram1 Wave sequences.

Re: sysex checksum error - Korg WS
Try slowing the transmission down. Also try having pauses between each bank chunk (eg send the Performance bank, wait, then send the Patch bank, wait, then send the Wave Sequence bank etc.).

Re: Korg Prophecy - HELP!
With Korg stuff of this era, the OS is usually not updatable directly on the chips - you usually exchanged or got new chips, and just swapped the chips into the sockets. That's how eg I upgraded my Wavestation from V2.x to V3.x back in the day. I suspect the bin files you've got are just images of t...

Re: Vintage synths, are they really worth it?
For me, not really. The prices of the vintage classics have long since outweighed their musical utility, to me. Over a thousand pounds for an SH101..? Sheesh!

Re: Synthesizers with awesome arpeggiators
It seems there's no shortage of complexity with these kinds of tools, but what we really lack is some kind of sensible control mechanism to make sense of them. Do to madtheory's interest in the Cyclone I took a look at it's various features to see what it does and to consider implementing some softw...

Re: Looking for Casiotone CT202 Manual
Also, there are a few on ebay, but none with manuals, unfortunately.
It's worth keeping an eye on there, and if one comes up with a manual, it might be worth contacting the seller to see if they can scan, photocopy, or lend it to you - or just buying another one as a backup..

Re: Looking for Casiotone CT202 Manual
For these things, manuals won't be in electronic form, so it usually requires a dedicated passionate owner (eg like yourself) to scan theirs and put it online for others, or, the actual company to invest in getting it's old manuals online (some companies are better than others about doing this). Hop...

Re: Downsizing (which synths can I sell?)
Oh right, I see. You have to sign in to Encyclotronic, not Factmag. LOL. Sorry for confusing things. ... Strange, I can see it right there. Stupid question, did you scroll down past the image of the magazine? I don't see a sysex download link either, in Safari or Chrome. (Also no difference when tu...

Re: Downsizing (which synths can I sell?)
Ok, you screenshotted the Factmag page, which was confusing as I had gone direct to Encyclo. I thought when you re-screenshotted Factmag that *that* was where the link was, but I seen it's just a link to Encyclo.) In any case, there's no link on Encyclo, the screenshot of what I see there I attached...

I don't see a sysex download link either, in Safari or Chrome. (Also no difference when turning adblockers off.)
Are you signed in? Perhap you have to be signed in to get the link?

Re: Downsizing (which synths can I sell?)
Are there any downsides today with "in the box" (ITB) solutions compared to the 80s/90s way of hardware synths/samplers? Well, some people like a room full of gear. When I was a kid, I used to doodle my dream studios, and they were pretty much wall to wall synths, sequencers, samplers, mixers etc. ...
