Well said, Mr. Babic! I think people should stop getting so defensive about things that they like - if someone else doesn't like it, to the point of thinking it's shite/sucks/<insert expletive>, so what? Does it diminish your enjoyment of it? Of course not, so just deal with it, instead of trying to...

Further to what Bitexion says, I remember that Angus (Clubbedtodeath) produced a very passable version on his Novation KS4 with no multitracking. I'm sure that he routed the filter cutoff to keyboard velocity for the variation in sound. Never tried to emulate the sound when I had a Mini, but it's no...

3. Research! We're not suggesting that for one moment, that VSE should be used as a 'last resort' for information. Sadly, however, there are far too many cases of threads being started to ask questions which could be answered with minimal effort using a search engine such as Google. Check out the m...

Thanks Steve... 4. 'Duplicate' Threads. Please use the 'search' function before starting a thread, as chances are, the information will be already available. There's nothing wrong with reviving an old thread if you have something new to add to it, and it might even generate a whole new discussion! :...

For the money, there's not a lot to gripe about, with the the ER-1. I had a lot of fun with mine - it's pretty good if you synch it up with another drum machine. I used to double mine up with an Alesis SR-16 (another 'hated' drum machine) and received enough sound for pound.

What Stab Frenzy said.

There are plenty of Prophet 08 threads out there for the time being.

Basic303 - I hope this isn't going to be a case of you starting a new thread each time you find an alternative to the MS2000, as it's only been a few hours since you asked about the Korg. It's nothing personal, but all these 'What should I buy?' and 'vs' threads are starting to clutter up the forum....

There are already a couple of threads about the Prophet 08 knocking about, which mentions the oscillators - have a search through them.

It's not a hanging crime - that's reserved for 'Micron vs MicroKorg' threads and there's nothing wrong with resurrecting older threads (it's better than starting new ones), it's just that in this case, the answers you sought are actually still in the thread!

It's a tip that you should put into practice then, Steve. The link to the demos is in the thread - just a case of scanning through it.

I heard the banging and thumping in this one from over in General Synths! Jambo, I couldn't help but notice that despite four postings from you in this thread, none of them actually contain any comments about Johnny's music, yet you've seen fit to have a scrap with Crow. I wouldn't say you have put ...

Correction to my earlier post. The early version Mk1 Poly 800 does not have a lithium battery to save patches. They are stored only if you have non-dead C type batteries in the battery compartment. If you remove the batteries, you lose your patches. Later version Mk1's do have a lithium battery for...
