Re: Problem with Telemark
I'd suggest talking to whomever you bought it from. It has been said that Analogue Solutions quality control is spotty.

Re: Akai AX-80 membrane buttons not working
Thanks Rhino!
Yeah, the pot shaft just spins like it is endless rotary, I suspect its broken as it appears to be original. The tuning function works fine. In fact everything is working now except that pot. Looks like I’ll need to pick up a new one.

Re: Got a CZ-101
I think CZ's are the best deal going right now. They have lots of character and a unique sound, they are easy to program and they are dirt cheap.

Re: what is the best synthesizer from the 2000's (2000-2010) ?
To be honest I imagine in a few years, the magazines etc will be more likely to deem the best synth as something like the microkorg.... Well as far as making synths accessible to the masses and making them popular, which has lead to more synth manufacturers being able to make more expensive and bet...

Re: poly with Moog Little Phatty
The P600 is thick and analog. You will need outboard effects to get the washes of sound you would want to sound like Ulrich Schnauss as it has no inboard effects and effects are a big part of that kind of sound. Check demos online such as on youtube to get an idea of the differences between the synt...

Re: Akai AX-80 membrane buttons not working
OK, so I bought the synth a couple days ago and fixed the membrane buttons last night (it was a very easy, obvious soldering job). The pot for the large programming knob does not work. Does anyone know of a good place to source this pot, is it endless rotary? Anyone know the values?

Access Virus TI for the win.

Re: OBie Love 8^ )
I wish I could get my hands on an OB-X. I heart most the demos I hear of that thing, nothing else sounds like it. It has a ghostly haunting quality to it. It’s one of the few synths I lust after anymore. I remember a few popping up on ebay between a year or two ago and they were generally going for ...

Re: DSI Mopho and Evolver: Do I need both?
They share the distinct DSI sound but I think they are different enough, that if you enjoy that DSI flavor, they each offer something making them both worthwhile. I will say that I absolutely hated the matrix programming on the evolver desktop. The Mopho is a breeze to program in comparison. I thoug...

Re: poly with Moog Little Phatty
Don't get too hung up on peoples opinions if you've tried the real things for your self and have a preferance. However, don't shortchange a synth if you've only flipped through presets. Both the Virus TI and Andromeda are incredibly powerful synths capable of a broad range of sounds. That said, with...

Re: Prophet 5 to Prophet 600 Comparison?
Whiney, I wasn’t blown away by the P5, especially at its price. I think I actually like my OB-8 more, at half the price. And the OB sounds similar. I will concede that the P5 is a lot better looking than an OB-8 and the cross-mod is something the OB-8 doesn’t have (but then it has many things the P-...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread
I think I'd go for the semi-modular as well. Too bad about the rising price I was seriously considering it but with lack of demos and the price jumping before we are likely to hear any, I doubt I'll pick one up anytime soon.
