You can probably get close approximations of your korg patches by programming them on the virus but realize every synth has characteristics that are unique. Both the virus indigo 1 and 2 are no longer available new. The newest version is the TI Virus Polar. A used TI Polar will cost a little under $...

I'm sure Amos has all the info but my understanding from what I've read is that there will be an OS update for the current LP's. It will include the arp among other things. There will also be a LP2 coming out that has USB and a black anodized back...

I had a micron I liked and always thought I might get an Ion. Nice synth engine and lots of flex. As VA's go I like the virus sound more and was glad I tried something different.

I have been considering buying an Ion, but I could never understand Alesis's reasoning for selling two internally-(almost)-identical synths in different form factors at different price points. MS2000 - Microkorg PEK - MEK - DEVO etc... It's really a smart idea. They save lots in developing new prod...

Now you just need to trade in your gear for some 70's-early 80's gear to complete the look. Throw in an r2r or two for good measure.

I do want it for the full package (analog + digital) and love the sounds. I’m probably going to ruminate on it for a little while. Make sure there’s nothing that I will really miss before I give a synth up.

It is a librarian and an editor, I got it free through a Moog promo so I'm putting it to use. I don’t use the software to edit or make patches but I do like the librarian (if it worked). So I spent a good amount of time saving patches into the various categories of the library (Keys, Bass, percussio...

I also had a desktop Evo and now have the keyboard, I have to say the interface of the desktop is actually pretty good for a matrix type one. The thing is that the keyboard's interface is really really good, and it's pretty much worth the extra cash to get your hands on it. That seems to be the gen...

I don't really see people hype these much or get too excited about them which leads me to believe maybe the ATC just isn’t that exciting sounding after all. SE is a tiny company that doesn't advertise and the ATC has been out for years. Thus, little hype. The XS is brand new and hard to get. Thus, ...

I've owned or own a LP, a Desktop Evo, an MEK, a PEK, a Virus Indigo and a Virus TIk. I never owned a P600. I still have two of them: the TIk and the PEK. Nobody can decide for you what you should keep since we don't have the same priorities for sound. For me, analog is nice but not necessary. I ap...

Nobody can answer this but you. The MEK is cool, but its sound sits between the Virus and the Moog. I think from a purely functional point of view you could cover most of the MEK ground with those two. Oh, I know. I wouldn't let anyone but myself decide on the gear I acquire but it is nice to hear ...

kill my "GAS" conundrum/rant - Evolver MEK

I hate the acronym gas, but I thought it would best suggest the content of this thread. At any rate. I’ve really been lusting after an Dave Smith MEK as of late - love the mono digital meets analog sounds. However funds are tight and it would mean having to get rid of one of my current synths. I wou...
