Any Akai s1000/s1100 owners? I need some help

Ok, I've got a fully expanded s1100, two (yes, TWO different ZIP drives) one with a female DB-25 connector with a pic of an arrow (IIRC) and a port with a picture of a printer, the other has a male DB-25 port which has a pic of a ZIP above it and another port with a pic of a document or something ab...

Machinedrum! It's got very good MIDI machines (3x notes polyphony per machine, IIRC) you can have 16 machines! Or the Monomachine, it's got 6 polyphonic MIDI tracks (+ the 6 internal Mono tracks, which will kick your Alpha Junos' a*s, but at the same time they'll be very nice to it if they get to pl...

I just bought a Akai S1000 with 18megs and a new screen for 140 USD, and on top of it I bought 3 8meg memory cards for 250 dollars, which is a steal for what they go for singlely. I'll probably sell whatever ram I don't use or change out, but I can't say for sure. I just might buy a S1100, you neve...

I've got the Pro-8 which is the same synth i think... I use it as a pad machine, envelopes aren't too fast on it. it's one osc per voice but you can mix 3 different waveforms which is kinda cool. the filter steps which a bit of a shame but sounds nice enough. fairly thin sounding synth but quite wa...

I did a side by side comparison with a couple of Arp 2600s and the the v version. They sound like different synths altogether. then there's that, why couldn't they just make that 2600V a NEW synth? instead of a "remake/emulator"? it's like that new Miami Vice movie! It was JUST one of those action ...

Well the OP also states his digital keyboard makes convincing piano sounds but the truth is you can´t emulate a piano with just a couple of megabytes of sample ROM. Same applies to single-cycle wave samples of analog synthesizers. Not convincing enough if you´re more discerning than that. if you wa...
