I can see that, but i sort of slimmed down my reasoning against the microkorg so i didnt scare people away with the length of my post :P I dont want to turn this into a microkorg deabte, and i fully respect it, but from my point of view a Juno is more hands on and as an ex piano player the keys are...

It was just an observation, and probably due to the sound being programmed differently on the LP than the original Minimoog sound. If it were me, I would have tried to get the sound as close as possible to the original, but I'm not Geddy, and he may have had a reason to make it sound like he did, m...

Re: Saw Rush last night... and a Little Phatty

maybe i'm confused, but if the LP was being used for leads then how would you be able to compare it's bottom end to another synth that isn't even there? He used the Minimoog in the original (studio) versions of those songs, and it had a meaty bottom end on it, that the LP lacked in the concert. hav...

box ... a keyboard amp isn't necessarily a model for high quality sound, just loud sound. do you need to hear it do the jump sound? Generally the idea is for you to have high quality sound that can be projected over long distances. :P But my amp is the best "speaker" that I own and the sound qualit...

this thing sounds crazy!

btw box hes using wavetable sounds and multisaw sounds, which cant be achieved by analogs... so of course it wouldnt sound analog.

the sync sound is pretty convincing from what I could hear though

untouchable is wrong, don't listen to him. analog synths are not the end all be all of synths. take this from the owner of several analogs, and not a snobby kid. like he said, he is NOT an expert. I'm not either, but I've been around the block a bit more than he has synth wise. you want to use a sa...

the MKS50 is the alpha juno, different beast altogether Is the internal architecture really that different from the Junos that have their own sliders? (Do they have step filters and sluggish envelopes like the JX synths, or something?) they use different oscillator chips and the JX8p filter, they s...

I like to use my Virus TI for fart noises and my juno for the sound of diarrhea as it leaves the rectum.

The virus is good for vomiting noises as well.

I used them both recently in my cover of the 2girls1cup song

Also, could any of you tell me what the difference is (other than the onboard speakers) between the 106 and the HS-60 that makes it so much cheaper than the Juno synths? (I'd also like to know if the MKS-50 module would make a good rack version.) it doesn't have the juno name, so the owners who sel...

I'd say go for a cheap digital and a distortion/fuzz pedal. analog poly wont give you waht you are looking for for that price range Ms2000, microkorg, esq1, etc... they can do some great bass sounds, and the distortion will get rid of that 'cleanness' you dislike (or you could try not being a snob a...
