Re: In the market for a drum pad controller

I had the padkontrol once and it was great, and then I switched over to the nanopad and never looked back... either of the korg ones will do you good.

Emulator II Sample Library?

So listening to JMP's demos has really made me crave an emulator II... or its sample library.

Can anyone point me to a site that has its samples available for free possibly? (hopefully in Akai MPC or Kontakt format!)

Thanks guys!

Re: Opinions Wanted: Waldorf

...unless you're actually going to manipulate the wavetables. If you only ever want to use the standard wavetables or use it as a sort of glorified virtual analogue then it's really easy. I agree that it's a VERY f**k simple instrument to use if you don't actually scratch the surface and use any of...

Re: Opinions Wanted: Waldorf

They don't sound better, just different. The ms2000's thinness is one of the things I liked about it.

Re: Opinions Wanted: Waldorf

I don't get it, why wouldn't anyone get the Blofeld over the XT? Seems like it would have more features and combines the XT and Q somewhat in one. I like the MW1 the best out of all of them, but that's just my nature. Analog hybrid goodness. the blofeld lacks the wave envelopes of the XT, and it al...

Re: Opinions Wanted: Waldorf

I have the microWave XT (shadow edition). I love the sound but i don't like the way the controls are laid out. It feels like they suddenly, after designing the microWave 2 decided that "uh.. oh yea we need lotsa knobs too" without putting much thought into it. The function of all the knobs are dupl...

Moog MF104z VS RE201 VS RE501

The quest for dirty self oscillating delay sounds commenceth! I can only get one of these, so my biggest questions are: What is the dirtiest sounding between the MF104z, RE201, and RE501? And I mean DIRTY. I want this to totally f**k with whatever I put through it and color it with its signature sou...

Re: Battle of the lower-priced 'hybrid' synths.

nope, I'm not wrong. one filter per voice just like the poly 800. It used to audibly glitch the filter envelope if I played a certain way (retriggering at the wrong times, especially with the arpeggiator, because there was only ONE filter). Try turning on the arp with a pad sound (or long decaying s...

too many f**k samples

THIS post on waveformless got me thinking about drum sounds and sampling, and when are things too much. 1700 drum sounds? I use the stock battery 3 sounds, ultrabeat, and the waldorf attack for most of my drum sounds (and occasional drums from my synths) and I often find I have too many samples to ...

External HDDs for recording

Hey guys, got a few questions about external HD's. My current recording setup is a black macbook, 2.16 ghz, 80 gig HDD, 2 gigs of ram, running logic 8. I record straight to the drive on the computer, but I'm running out of space fast, and I'm wondering if recording straight to an external HDD is a b...
