Re: good monitor under 500$ or stay still?
I used to use the HS50ms before I moved to my adam a7s... I still have them sitting in my closet, and yes, they are totally flat. If you can get a mix sounding good on them at low volume, like bigbag said, it will sound good anywhere. I didn't buy the sub because I found that they had enough bass as...

Re: Access Limited Edition?
I wish they would release the polar in that color scheme... I kind of hate white synths even though I LOVE my polar.
There is also the goldfilter

Re: Nord Lead 1 vs 2
okay allegedly is BS, because the point of the 2x was to rerelease the engine from the 2 since everyone complained the 3 was so different
so the 2x IS the 2 albeit with more features
but you definitely can't go wrong with the 2.

Re: Nord Wave VS Andromeda VS Poly Evolver
yeah I do agree that the saw was much more aggressive on the 2x, but the distortion takes the 3 to an entire new level

Re: Roland space echo vs boss space echo
the boss space echo does not compare to the real thing at all period its certainly a nice pedal, but it in no way gets close (my bass player owned the boss, one of my friends owns the real thing, we did a back to back for several hours one day) this is not like the difference between digital and ana...

Re: Nord Wave VS Andromeda VS Poly Evolver
I find the 3 more aggressive than any of the nords I've had (2x, micro modular) clearly aggressive is subjective, but the 3 has a real (and really f**k nasty) distortion whereas the 2x doesnt. The micro modular is just an entirely different sound from the 3, that I wouldn't say is very aggressive, e...

Re: Nord Wave VS Andromeda VS Poly Evolver
Don't expect a rack andromeda, but that would be f**k awesome. I would also mention that the andromeda has so much sound capability it is basically a modular, so you could definitely get your vcs3 imitations going. I'd say for what you need the andromeda is the best choice, it has such a broad sound...

Re: Nord Lead 1 vs 2
I've had a micro modular, 2x, and a 3. I love the 3, but thats not relevant here. AFAIK, the 1/2/2x/modular G1 all have the same sound, which is a sound I dig. For my tastes I found the 2x a bit limited, but it might work better for what you are doing. An outboard effects unit/pedal/whatever is a mu...

Re: yamaha TG-33?
the TG/SY synths are great. My friend had an SY35 for a short period of time and I got to tinker with it a lot, definitely great sounding. Its got a sort of lo fi crunch to it that I really digged, think twitch era ministry, like that "shitty akai sampler" sound that everyone loves. editing it isnt ...

Re: Interesting digital filter sections
The XT has been mentioned a million times so I'll refrain, but I will throw in the Virus TI. The filter saturation curves allow you to get some ridiculous effects that you wouldnt be able to get on other synths. (The weirder filters on the XTk are kind of the same idea)
