Since I'm using it right now, I'm just going to say that the Ebbe und Flut is absolutely amazing. This is, of course, akin to saying, "this is the chick into which I can currently insert my pee-pee, any damn time I wish !" You're probably right there. FWIW yesterday was the first time I had enough ...

The Akai is analogue. Honestly, depending on what you're doing, having a unit that has two filters with separate outputs can do a really good job. I use the Sherman and Ebbe und Flut a lot for that, send a 50/50 mono mix of a stereo signal in to the mono input, record the two filters panned hard lef...

The Evolver probably is the way to go if money is a concern. It's not the most amazing filter (compared with the Filterbank, Ebbe und Flut, or Mutator), but it certainly sounds analogue, and for $500 it's impossible to beat, considering you get one of the most versatile monosynths/processor boxes ar...

It always amazes me the number of people who sell gear within a week or month of getting it.

Another word to the wise - use it with a limiter at the end of the signal chain. There's something in the manual about setting up the 4 feedback knobs to mirror symmetry positions - doing so gives you relative stability. I tend to think of it as an additive balance (although I'm sure it's not) summi...

Brian - the pots are pretty sensitive on the M-Res - they don't wobble but the difference between squealing noise and useful effect can be less than a degree. You need to play it a lot to get a feel for the stable and unstable settings.

d - The T-Res is the M-Res with a delay incorporated.

I just hate to see a former giant of a synth developer reduced to home studio desktop toys to make a profit. I pray they do well w/ the kids on the block, and then release something along the pro line later. Judging from the demos, and my experience with Waldorf synths, I suspect that ...

You mean like the 999 halted MDUW sales?
Also, the UW does have live recording.
