I find that with Wavosaur, I can get samples ready to go on the PC within minutes. It's a dedicated editor, so there's no fussing around.

FWIW, I played with one of these on two occasions for several hours each time. From my experience, it seemed like a sort of 'instant good' box, in the sense that it made everything I put through it sound a little more professional. If I had one, it would be in every signal chain I made that involved...

Shagghie did describe the XS as a psychadelic sex tornado or something of the like - I don't know that the MS20 has ever had such lurid praise...

Do you want something that's not a patchbay, or will one of those do?

I had a look at Muffwiggler's site, there are a few TM-1 demos here and there, but they're pretty stock-standard metasonix demos :) I think what I want is for it to sound like it is described in the Keyboard review: 'A harmonically rich yet dark distortion .... A stunning ugly/beautiful sound' Somet...

Anyone have any demos of the TM-1 that aren't just noise?

Rumour has it that the TM-1 can do stuff besides destroy signals.
I get the feeling that, like the Sherman or the M-Res, it's sold as a signal destroyer and so there aren't demos of the full range of what it's capable of.
Does anyone out there have demos which prove me right?

The Blofeld is sort of a next-gen VA (or at least, the VA elements of it), isn't it? It seems to me that Waldorf may well have rebuilt the Q architecture from scratch, and there's nothing else on the market (except perhaps the Solaris and possibly the Wave) which isn't using code that dates in part ...

In features and flexibility the Doepfer probably wins. http://www.doepfer.de/a100s_e.htm In size and portability...the FR wins. I'd imagine that in terms of sound too, the FR may win. This is just my experience, but I see many more instances of people raving about the FR sound than about the Doepfe...

$699 may be a product of the weak American dollar...if they do drop it to $600 though, I suspect they will have a true winner. You could get a Blofeld, a desktop Evolver, and a midi keyboard and call it a day for ~$1200.

Gosh! I do it all because people find it helpful and I'm glad many people have similar interests. Thanks! I need to get cracking on my Wavetable Page again - now it applies to the Blofeld too  Carbon, your site is extremely great - a labour of love if you will. Here's some quick one-o...
