Jomox M-Resonator:In-depth demos right here.

So now that I have one, I'm not surprised to find out that what the M-Res can do is vastly more than any on-line demo suggests (no offence REwire). Yes, it is fantastic at destroying sound, but the phase inverting and cross-filter channels make it a fantastic choice for weird spatialization. This is...

Why not use wavelet analysis, with little peaks-and-sideband shaped kernels?

There's one in my local. I've been thinking about checking it out, I could let you know, if you're really interested.

If you're patient, and have about $800, you could also consider the Waldorf X-Pole.

For dub you'll be wanting the Mutator, it's a smooth, clean filter, and it's stereo, which helps hugely. The Sherman is much grittier, and although most people that own one don't actually know how to use it for anything besides signal destruction, you'd need to want to make a gritty kind of dub. I p...

Nice video indeed, it's exactly the kind of thing that could push the price of ESQs up on ebay :)

Like JS says, you can get them by retriggering the sample-based machines, which, considering you can load anything you want into the UW, isn't a restriction at all. Patching an LFO or one-shot AD envelope to the retrigger time can also be used to mix things up, when you add in parameter locks, there...

I'm getting the Jomox M-Res later this afternoon, I'd say it falls into the category of atypical effects. I suspect that in the right hands it will be a dub-machine. I'd also say that the RAM (live recording capability) of the MDUW can be stupid powerful, as you have ridiculous control over what hap...

Thanks for the kind words and suggestions guys. I do rather like the look of the Compounder, I think that I'm definitely up for compression as a colouring effect. I'm gonna go check out the Joemeek gear they have in my local music store, the selection's not going to be awesome, but I'm pretty sure t...

Hardware compressors and eq for home use - recommendations

I'm tired of my VSTs and I'd like to get my hands on some hardware recording gear falling somewhere between behringer and top end studio stuff. What I'd specifically like is a stereo compressor and a parametric eq. I'm not too fussed about any preamps at this stage, because I don't mic anything. My ...

This is something I'm sure there's good reason for, but why not use yr MnM or MD, seeing as they're the same thing, but more flexible?
