I would second (third?) the suggestion of the Emu Proteus, they're deep as all get-out, and the Emu sound, particularly the filters is really nice. Check out Sealed's demos of the Morpheus for a taste of what the Z-Plane filters can do, and have a search for timbral sequencing. And, because I can't ...
