Well, they are two totally different synths... one offers a ton of possibilities...the other offers far less. Do you absolutely love the SH-101's sound? Do you hate the MM's interface? Do you like simplicity?

I've owned the MEK and am in the process of getting an LP. Do you want a no nonsense analog synth that is simple to use? Then the LP. Do you want analog / digital synth with a buttload of routing options, an elaborate analog sequencer, and effects...that can still do the analog thing when you want? ...

The only one I regret getting rid of and want back is the Moog Voyager but it is an extreme luxury to own one at it's price. I can cover all it's basses with the Nord but sometimes, there's just no substitute for the real thing but really, nobody but myself and maybe a select few will even care tha...

I'd rather use software than rack synths...so a day comes where only rack mounts are made of decent synths...I will gladly go back to using a laptop.

People that are creating techno (I'm using this as a general term since I'm an old fart) do not require a keyboard with more than a couple of octaves or even a keyboard at all. True indeed. Also, I think that unless you are actually a piano player, why use a keyboard? I myself am a saxophone player...
