Re: Roland XP-50

To the best of my knowledge, I don't think that complete board are available (maybe on eBay, from another unit). And it's not always a garantee of success (the other board can have issues). Generally, just the defective parts are changed. Seems like the guy didn't test after changing the bridge rect...

Re: HELP!! No power to desk

You don't have to feel stupid. Sometimes, just changing the fuse once is enough. But if your hear a hum + multiple fuse blow, the power supply is to be verified by a professional. Chances are that the transformer and possibly a power transformer are problematic (to name just those two). Don't ventur...

Congrat! This is quite a find. If this is your payback for your bad luck, with all the stuff that happened to me I kinda expect to get the nude babes with the thousand dollar bills!... or a repairshop made by the gang of Extreme Makeover http://www.hgtv.ca/DMM/E/X/Extreme_Makeover__Home_Edition_001....

Re: Korg MS-10 Pulse crackling

I think I located where the needed documents are (it's a damn library & a labyrinth in the shop!) You willingness to help is awesome. :D If I could afford it, I'd help everybody all the time for free. But I must restrain my generous nature, especially since I felt ill, I'm without a salary (cannot y...

Re: Korg Poly800 not triggering oscillators.

I'll have to dig up my service manual... but I don't remember a key sequence or something like that to reinitialize it. I know there is a "hard reset" possible though.

At first sight, I'm a bit baffled. I don't have ready-made answer. I'll try to seriously sit with my documents.

Re: HELP!! No power to desk

Thanks a lot Maschinengeist. I took the fuse out and it was blown. i feel very relieved. Appreciate the advice!!! Paul My pleasure Paul. Funny story: some of my customers took their gear to a tech (hey, the damn thing no longer work!) and they had one big bill (hey, the techs have all their policy,...

Re: Korg MS-10 Pulse crackling

If you look at the Pulse Osc schem, it's pretty straightforward. Sure, the op-amp IC6 could show some problem (I just remarked that I just mentioned "transistor" without any explicit reference to the actual osc. Sorry, check the time of the post - a bit late at night.). But I kinda remained obsessed...

Re: Korg MS-10 Pulse crackling

Sorry guys for taking so long. I looked at the schematics... I lack some ICs datasheets. But at first glance, I become suspicious of the Korg35 IC (IC7). But I'd sure need a few voltage readings to make sure that I'm not making things up. I don't totally discard a transistor though... the crackling ...

Re: HELP!! No power to desk

First, check the fuse. A visual inspection may reveal the problem, especially if the glass is spotted. Replace by the same value (printed on the metal cap). Otherwise, use a multimeter and set it to OHM. If your fuse offers resistance, it is blown. If the fuse is ok, it may be the switch or the powe...

Re: Parts for VINTAGE SYNTHESIZERS.....

I'll shamelessly add my name to the list. ;) I don't have an excessive long list of parts in stock (I keep about just what I need). But I've got a bunch of suppliers. And I am more and more sollicitated for parts. So far, people are happy with my services and of my prices. The more I sell, the more ...
