Re: Realistic Moog Concertmate MG-1 oscillator problem
i don't really want to pay somebody to diagnose and fix it for the "convenient" and "competitive" price of $200+. I'm a tech and I help people whenever I can (browse my stats). When I read statements like yours, it doesn't motivate me to help out. People work for a livin', you know. Listen to anyon...

Instead of surfing the interweb for hours if not for days, I recommend:

I've been doing business with Mark for a while: excellent service, excellent price, fast delivery. You can't go wrong with him

Re: Quick Hello and Help needed with DR-55
Hello
The DR-55 needs fresh batteries in about once a year. Otherwise, the memory gets underpowered and goes amnesiac. First thing first before changing ICs. And then check the voltages and test the memory itself.

Re: The Weirdest Thing Ever!
$68 is maybe for the service? Dunno... I join Stab: nothing comes back to life. There is no magic in electronics. What could have happened is that the battery has not been properly installed. Quite possibly been badly soldered in. There's nothing weird. Have you ever solved an electronic problem wit...

Re: Roland GR-50 won't fire up
I've got the service manual so I can say that it's not a fuse problem: there are no fuse in there. I'd recommend that you see a tech to check it out. It can be a lot of things just from the power supply alone (the first place to start). First, we've got to make sure that it's alright in there with a...

Re: Crumar Stratus - how much does it weight?
I wish I could give you the exact weight. I repaired one last year but since I felt sick my wife has started to make some clean up in my papers (next thing: the actual repairshop... I fear it'll look like a tea salon). Anyway, if I remember correctly it was a good 45lbs. It sure not less, it's a hea...

Re: low output issues with Kaoss pad
The first thing that comes to mind is a faulty op-amp somewhere. Or something related to it, like a cold solder joint (machines are not always doing it right so it happens even with recent stuff). Could be a problem with the potentiometer, offering too much resistance. Just thoughts from the top of ...

Re: SH-101 tuning.
I use to recommend to those who have never been under the hood of a synth (or who have no experience of electronics) to leave it to the professionals. But it can be perceived that I'm preaching for my tesm. Have a look at the procedure and if you feel ok with it, go on but be careful. I've got a par...

Re: Kawai K3 repair?
Usually just a matter of cleaning the contacts underneath the keys. That's the first thing. But depending of what keys are defective (like 1 each octave, etc), this could be an IC problem. This you can do nothing on your own. See a tech. If you've got sharp eyes and a magnifier, you can inspect sold...

Re: Broken Keys
Replacing keys is easy... as long as you are careful. Many persons snap the new keys' hook by applying too much force or by not proceeding with caution. Just check how the others are mounted and it should be alright. I can't outline you the procedure because I work (like a robot) on too many models ...

Re: waldorf microwave 1 sysex troubles
First off, sorry if I sound vaporous or if I didn't get your message right: I'm dizzy 24/24 due to a recent health issue. You can't control by SysEx (short for System Exclusive), you control by MIDI. Wikipedia will clear it all up to you. And refer to your owner's manual. If you don't have it, use G...

But I don't give my service manuals for free: I accept donations to help me out (been sick for a month and can't work so I try to get some money to pay my bills....
