If you can find it, R.A. Penfold's Electronic Synthesizer Construction was a rather good book I had when I was young. Oh the memories. I had that book a few years ago. Good one. Now I wonder what happened to it. I too look for it on the second-hand market. And Xpander got a point, Digikey, mouser &...

Hi evildragon I don't have any motherboard in stock. I rarely keep those parts (but will someday. Another work in progress). But I'll check around and will contact my part suppliers to see if one got one available. As for test, you can persorm a few on the ICs with a digital multimeter to make sure ...

If you need a tech closer to you than I, I've got one in Utah (Brandon Callahan). He's a full fledge synth tech, not an amateur. He also got access to the Muzik Elektronix extensive service manual library (unfortunately no longer open to the public for various reasons). More details on MuzikElektron...

At this point, I would suggest you to get ahold of the service manual and launch some tests. You need to have the technical data to see your way through.

The service manual is surely available online (free or not so free). Sometimes they pop on eBay too.

The tact switches are really not expensive. Please have a look at digikey.com or mouser.com or you can even grab a bag for dirt cheap on eBay.

Even better: Ignore me and my so-called nervous breakdown and help people!!! There are plenty available. Impress us with your 20 year tech knowledge. It'll be easy to you: me I only go to my 2 years of existence. You should be able to answer them all in a jiff.

Thanks for your concerned about my health. I'll keep that in mind. And if you'd pay attention: I don't say "replace caps" I use to say test caps. Big difference. A seasoned tech with 20 years of experience like you know electrolytic caps die after 10 years... sometimes 20. Do the math. I replace ton...

Oh, I did? Now that's the story. FYI I never emailed nor PMed any mods about the so-called "harassement". I don't play that sort of games. I just walked away and came back (after what 2-3 weeks) when a bunch of VSErs contacted me to come back and to ask for my assistance with their technical problem...
